"Hello?" Amirah called out, wandering throughout the strange house she had appeared in.
A slight laughter and running footsteps met her ressponse, further confusing her. It wasn't long before a certain scent told her of someone she wasn't too keen on seeing again was in the vast area with her.
Indeed, the sound of wings beating the air echoed throughout the house, and she looked up and up into the dark as the nearby stairs and floors stretched forever up.
"Amirah." Not a question or a statement. Merely a cold observation.
She didn't even bother to turn around, not as she heard the feathers shuffling and that familiar sound of sealing magic that always grated her ears, and he knew that.
"Az." She said simply.
It was so silent, one could hear a crumb drop. He spoke again, his voice whispy like the shadows he loved to dwell in. "I see that you're having fun. Which is to be expected. I really loved that little tidbit when you explained how we're family."
Amirah closed her eyes and waited with bated breath. She knew what he was doing, and shouldn't even be effected by it, but whether she liked it or not, somewhere deep down, his words were weighing down on her.
"I just don't think you fully captured exactly how close we all are."
"Were." She corrected quietly.
Malice and venom practically oozed off of his presence, but his voice betrayed known of that. "Oh come on. You know thats not true. If it wasn't for that overgrown rotting lizard, you would still remember."
That did it. Amirah loosed a growl that was nowhere near humane, and she whirled around to strike her fist through nothing.
She sensed him behind her. "My deepest apologies, i seemed to hit a nerve." He remarked condescendingly, although there was no emotion in his voice.
Amirah gritted her teeth together and focused on the marble floor, knowing that she wouldn't be able to hit him. Not with wind and darkness working in this favor.
"Although I must admit. I did actually like that one companion you kept around, the mangey furball. I think she did a lot of good for you."
All of her reason disappeared, and she could barely see through the golden rage of her magic and fury. Amirah blindly whipped around and struck out again, hitting nothing but thin air. Snarling, she focused on her senses and could feel his presence all around her. "Shut the fuck up. You don't know a single thing, so do not even go there with me." Even as she seethed the words with such fury, her heart broke all over again. Mable, I am so so sorry.
Azriel's voice went quiet and she waited for anything else, loosing out a breath and tiredly running a hand through her hair. The hallway before her stretched into oblivion, so she didn't even bother going anywhere, having been down this road many times before. "I swear Azriel. For once, just for once, think for yourself and don't let Master Tarragon control you like this. I know he's making you do this."
A sharp pain sliced across Amirah's forearm, leaving a sizable gash on the side of her arm. She winced and gripped her arm, spinning around wildly, trying to pinpoint her attacker.
"Entrapment: Place hold."
A silver magic circle appeared underneath Amirah's feet, and before she had time to even move, a dozen chains shot up from the ground and wrapped tightly around her arms, legs, stomach, and neck—effectively holding her in place and restricting any—and all—kind of movement.
Amirah gritted her teeth and struggled as hard as she could, pulling and straining under the weight of the heavy chains. In response to her struggles, they tightened, and it now had become a battle just to force air into her lungs. "You...bastard..."
