Separation

Chapter 2

"Why would you want to leave me Miskai?" Usagi had never sounded so sad before. "Are you unhappy?"

Miskai quickly shook his head "no of course not." Unable to bare the look in Usagi-sans eyes Miskai stood up and quickly went to him. He knelt down looking his lover in the eye. "I love you Usagi-san." He was rewarded by another shocked look, this one much happier. He felt a bit guilty for not saying it often enough. "Nii-chan is not letting up about me moving out and I think it would be better if I had my own place for a while before telling him about us, that way he won't think you've forced me into it because of living arrangements or that I depend on you and that's why I'm with you."

Usagi looked confused "you want to tell Takahiro?" He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Miskai was certainly putting his emotions on a roller coaster ride. Miskai nodded slightly becoming red in the face. Usagi smiled more, his Miskai was growing up. "I don't think you need to move out for that. I will protect you." He wrapped his arm around his lover's shoulders and pulled him close.

"I know you would but I don't want you to have too. I want your friendship and my relationship with Nii-chan to survive this. I think me being on my own for a while before we tell him would be best. I think your father would respect me more if I showed that I could take care of myself as well." Miskai barely whispered.

Usagi pulled back "that man has nothing to do with our relationship." He said annoyed.

Miskai sighed "I know you think that but he's still your father. I would still like his approval, or at least for him not to think I'm only using you because you are rich. I want him to know I'm choosing you because I love you and I don't care about your money."

Usagi's eyes went wide as he looked at his Miskai. He couldn't believe the younger had just said that. It was the most he has ever said regarding his feelings for him. Though he would miss him, Usagi could not put out of his mind what his father had said to him. Implying that if he didn't like Miskai go when the man wanted to than he wasn't secure in their relationship. How could Miskai, whom he always seemed to have to drag into the relationship be more secure in it than himself who loved the younger man more than he loved anything in the world?

He sighed "Miskai I will miss you greatly. How long will you be gone? A month?"

Miskai stood laughing a little. "I think it will take longer than a month to prove that I can take care of myself and that I'm not just using you for money or something. I was thinking more like six months to a year."

Usagi fell back in his chair a little. "I don't think I can go that long without you." He said seriously. He reached out and pulled Miskai to him wanting him as close as possible right now. Talking about him leaving made Usagi want to hold him even more.

Miskai let himself fall into Usagi's lap. "It's not like we won't see each other. I'll still be coming over to help clean and cook. Not to mention Aikawa will probably need my help making sure you meet your deadlines and don't pass out on the floor like you have before." He chuckled but he did worry about Usagi being alone. The man seriously could not do anything besides write, including taking care of himself.

"I won't get to hold you every night." Usagi said sadly.

Miskai turned to him and gently put his hand to his cheek. "You can hold me tonight though." He said his face turning red. He loved Usagi-san he knew this was going to be hard on him and he had already told himself that he would do whatever was necessary to let Usagi know that he loved him and that he wasn't leaving him.

Usagi's eyes widened before closing as Miskai leaned in to give his lover a kiss. Before either knew it they were on their way upstairs both of them pulling at each other's clothes. Desperate to be close to other another after all the talk of separating.
