Okay, so when I first designed Madge, I put no thought whatsoever into her outfit or her face or anything. I've since added a few specific facial features, but she's been in desperate need of a change in design. She needed meaning in her clothing.

I've added a lot more to her outfit and actually took her backstory into consideration. I fixed her afro to be more fluffy and curly and added 3 french braids that are tight on her scalp as a bit of detail. I kept her overall face with her square jawline and her large nose, her thick eyebrows, etc.
For her outfit, I googled "thrift store outfit" and sifted through the results. I found various items and put what she's wearing together. I wanted her to have a very inexpensive wardrobe, as she doesn't have much money. I also added her school bag, which I found a reference for by googling "thrift store backpack." I added school books, a pencil, and an eraser next to that.
Another thing I wanna point out is that she has her ears pierced, but she hadn't worn earrings for most of her life. She got them pierced as a baby when her parents were both alive and her family was in a good financial situation. She has that one pair of earrings that she got her ears pierced with, but she didn't wear them pretty much anytime after she was 4 or 5.
I'll be coloring the drawing soon. I don't know if I'll do it traditionally or digitally, but I know I will be doing it.
