"Starburst! You're still a Kit, you must only stay withn the Clan!" Aquapaw purred at Starburst, a multicoloured cat with blue eyes. Starburst didn't pay attention to Pinkclaw and continued looking around. "I can't belive this will all be mine one day!" Starburst meowed, looking at the beautiful ponds and trees.
"Well, I can! You need to get back to your mothe-" "My... mother recently died... Thats why I'm staying with Redstar... She adopted me. She said that I was going to be a leader one day. So thats why shes training me so early." Starburst explained.
"I'm... so sorry..." the small tom-cat apologized. "No, it was fine. My father was actually abusive... So my mother killed him. The clan forgave her, and she continued doing things normally."
"One day, my little sister ran away from home and joined Riverclan. We were devastated. My mother felt like I was going to leave her too, so she ended herself... But, everything is f-fine now..." Starburst felt wet droplets form in her blue, big eyes.
"Starburst! Is everything okay?!" Redstar came running towards the two kits. "Starburst, everything is okay now! Please stop crying!" Aquapaw licked Starburst's nose, giving her a reassuring smile. "Okay, I think I just need a rest..." Starburst looked down as she walked away with Redstar. "Bye..." She said softly.
The next day, Starburst had apprentice training. "How many moons old are you again?" Redstar asked. "Oh, I'm now fourteen moons old. My birthday is tomorrow!" Starburst purred excitedly, while practising her pounce. "Oh! We'll be sure to do something special then!" Redstar smiled at her (now) child.
"Anyway, today please try and bring our clan a bird! This will be your last mission/lesson before we..." "We what?" Starburst asked, kinda hyped. "I'll tell you tomorrow!" Redstar smiled. "Uh, okay?" Starburst purred as she followed Redstar into the forest.
"Okay, meet me back here once you've collected the bird! See ya!" Redstar meowed as she trailed of to talk to another warrior, who desperately needs help. Redstar walked towards the warrior and asked what was going on "You see, my kits have been... killed!" The young she-cat cried. "By who?!" Redstar's eyes widened as she heard the name. "Blackstream!"
Blackstream was a former Riverclan member, who killed other cats without reason. He would even kill cats from his own clan. Even kits! Thats why the leader of Riverclan decided to banish Blackstream from the forest. He trailed back into the forest apparently and started killing kits again. And this time, he cannot be kicked out of a clan.
"I heard he was going in the direction of Starburst! Please save Starburst, shes the closest thing I have to a daughter now..." the cat purred, saddened and worried by the news. Redtail ran after Starburst with tears in her eyes.
"No... She can't die... she needs to contine living!" Redstar mumbked to herself. As she ran through the green, healthy forest, she found apa few paw-prints... Paw-prints that looked exactly like Starburst's. The leader cat followed these footprints until, she reached an end.
The cat looked around, only to see Blackstream on the floor, defeated by Starburst. "Don't you ever come back into the forest again!" Starburst screamed. "You think I'm going to obey a small kit like you? I eat kits for breakfast!" Blackstream meowed. Starburst jumped onto the black cat's back, so that he couldn't get up. "Guess I'm going to have to keep out here forever then." The she-cat replied, smirking. "Without starving? No way!" Blackstream laughed.
"Blackstream, Starburst!" Redstar ran to the two cats. "Redstar!" Starburst looked up, only to see her new mother smiling at her. "... we're going to take this terrible cat out of the forest. If he is ever to come back, tell me and my warriors are going to kill this terrible creature. Understand?" Redstar asked sternly. "Understood." Starburst nodded. "I'm still here ya know--" "quiet you."
