The Incident

After eating a breakfast of pancakes and bacon, well...Except for Toby who had waffles, and Eyeless Jack who had raw kidneys, I went to Helen's room to talk. I needed someone to talk to, and when breakfast was over almost everyone left the mansion. I knocked on his door before I went in uninvited, although it was technically my room too.

"Come in." I heard Helen's voice. I turned the doorknob and walked inside, and I was surprised to see Helen sitting on the bed in the corner of the room, with his knees on his chest and his head down between them.

"What are you doing?" I inquired. He looked up at me and I noticed he didn't have his mask on. He was actually beautiful. He had black hair, with the brightest blue eyes I had seen, not even comparative to my mother's. He was cute. Then I noticed that he was crying. He wiped the tears away before answering.

"Just thinking..." He replied. I raised an eyebrow. He wasn't 'just' thinking if he was crying. I sat by him on the bed and put a hand on his back.

"Want to talk about it?" Helen shook his head. I sat there for a minute, and I eventually got up to leave him alone. He could sort it out, we all eventually did. Right before I got to the door, Helen called out to me.

"Rylee...? Please don't leave me..." I looked back to see Helen looking at me pleadingly. I sighed and took a seat next to him. He hugged me, his arms going all around my torso while his head was over my shoulder. He stayed like that for a while, and I enjoyed it. He eventually let go, and twiddled with his hands before he finally spoke up.

"I'm just upset about some things that happened in my life that I couldn't stop..." He whispered. I put a hand on his arm encouragingly. He went on.

"It all started with a watch...There was this girl named Judy. She was missing her watch, and I stayed out of it. Then a guy found it in my bag, and they started calling me a thief. They're bullying antics went from Tom, the other bullied kid, to me. I was beat up...So many times. My safe haven was online. I was online, when Tom messaged me on Facebook. I talked to him quite often after that, then one day he asked me to meet him on the school roof after first period. I decided to. When I got there, Tom confessed that he had been the one that framed me for the watch. I guess I got upset...I accidentally pushed him off the roof, and he died..." He looked at me with a look of guilt on his face. "I just keep on telling myself that he deserved it, but he really didn't...That's when I snapped." He looked at me with tears streaming down his cheeks. "Sometimes it gets to me again..."

"I'm sorry..." I whispered. "I'm sorry that that terrible thing happened to you, but you have to overcome it. It will eventually destroy you." He wiped his eyes with his sleeve and smiled at me.

"Thanks for understanding...Can I ask you something?" He asked. I nodded, and he smiled and perked his head to one side. "What was your life like? I mean, before this whole thing began." I clenched my teeth, holding back my tears. This whole thing seemed like a cry fest—and it wasn't just Helen anymore.

"My childhood was pretty messed up...My dad died when I was five, due to a car accident. He was drunk...My mom didn't want him to leave the house, and they got in a fight. After that, I grew up in a household where I couldn't do anything. I couldn't wear the wrong clothes, and listen to the wrong music. I finally snapped when I was fifteen, I decided to do things against my mom's will, and I would hide music cd's under my bed. I started wearing black just to mess with her, and I eventually actually liked the color. I still loved her to death, of course. Then...She was murdered. I think it was Masky and Hoodie. Then I was framed for it, and sent to an asylum, and then here I was." I kept up my tough facade, but it didn't work as I burst out crying. He took my hand, and I looked at his eyes. They looked caring, completely different than when I first met him. I stopped crying and glomped him, starting to cry tears of joy instead of sorrow.

"I'm so glad to have a friend like you..." I murmured into his shoulder. He looked at me in the eyes, and I could feel butterflies. I've never felt like this before, not even with a simple crush. We released our embrace.

Soon enough, Helen's forehead was touching mine, and my heartbeat quickened. Our lips met, and I couldn't even describe the feeling. His lips moved in rhythm with mine, and my arms went to go around his neck. His hands went to cup my hips, and I leaned in.

Just as we were getting started, the door opened. A man stood there, one that I hadn't seen before. Helen released me quickly, startled. I slid my hands back to my sides, and curiously stared at the man. His skin was gray, and he was wearing dark gray attire. He had on a beanie, and he had black hair. His eyes were gold, even his irises and pupils were golden. He blushed when he realized what we'd been doing, but after coughing into his fist, he recovered himself.

"Sorry, Painter we need you for a few minutes." He stopped and looked at me, and waved. "You must be Rylee. I'm Puppeteer." I waved back and nodded in acknowledgement. He smiled, and his teeth were golden, literally. Painter grabbed a bag of number two pencils and waved to me before hurriedly leaving. The door clicked shut. I decided to follow them. Right as I got out of the room, I heard knocking and panicked yelling. It sounded like Sally. I ran down the hallway, and I stopped when I saw almost every resident stopped in front of Sally's room. The door was closed, and I heard laughing coming from the closed door. It definitely wasn't Sally. I pushed through the two Jack's and Jeff, and I could see Puppeteer and Helen both trying to unlock the door. Painter had his pencil in the lock like what you would do with a bobby pin in the movies, and Puppeteer was guiding him with golden string that was going through the lock. Sally's screams began frantic, and I heard Helen curse. He finally got the door unlocked, but it still wouldn't open. Helen starting pounding on the door, and Jeff pushed him aside. With one kick, Jeff busted down the door. Sally ran out of the room, crying hysterically.

Sally saw me and stopped hugging Jeff and ran to me. She gripped my waist and cried into my shirt. I sat down in my knees and hugged her tight, and after she had calmed down a little bit, I asked her some questions.

"What happened?" I asked her. Her watery eyes looked up at mine, and her next words didn't surprise me.

"Angel was making Charlie mad..." I glanced over at Slender Man, and he looked as if he was thinking. I looked back to Sally and stood up. I took her hand, and together we decided to explore the room. Charlie was walking to Sally's bed, and I shivered. It was unreal how a stuffed animal could walk. Charlie turned around, and Sally giggled when Charlie tipped an imaginary hat at the both of us. I couldn't help but smile. Judge Angel was lying on the floor, laughing. Her arm was bloody, and what seemed to be a bite mark was present on her upper arm. She kept on repeating the same thing over and over again in between laughs.

"Charlie bit me!" She laughed. "Charlie bit me, Charlie bit me, Charlie bit me!" She chanted. I would have imagined Laughing Jack in this situation...But Judge Angel?
