CHAPTER 34- TANYA

He leads me to a room filled with people.

It has cherry wood floors and large glass panel doors and windows in it. It is furnished with circular bamboo tables which came with matching chairs. There is a platform at the far right where a DJ plays smoothing music for the crowd. The DJ's equipment is placed on a tall cuboid like structure which he stands behind of as he plays music.

We walk around tables of guests as they chat attentively with each other. My eyes focus on a man as he walks around the room in a white suit, greeting and chatting with the guests.

His eyes notice us and he walks over to us.

His hair is low cut and faded at the sides, his brown eyes stare at me as he approaches us and his lips rise into a smirk.

"Mr. Blake," he greets Johnattan with a hand shake.

"Mr. Jones, it's a pleasure to meet you again," Johnattan says as he pulls back from the hand shake.

Mr. Jones's eyes move to me and he regards me with amusement behind his white feathered mask.

"This must be Mrs. Blake," he says and my mouth runs dry.

"Um, No – No I'm Christina Hase his business partner," I say quickly as I shake the man's hand.

He looks up at Johnattan and smirks. "What a shame, I thought this playboy would have finally settled down by now."

"What's the rush? We all have to enjoy the perks of being single," says Johnattan dismissively.

Perks of being single? Aren't we a couple? I thought so at least for the time we're here but maybe I was over thinking this. Maybe he was just enjoying a perk of being single. Bedding a single woman for the fun of a few nights.

"Well it's a pleasure catching up with you Mr. Blake but will you please excuse me," says Mr. Jones as he gives an apologetic smile and turns to me. "Save me a dance later Ms. Hase?"

"Sure," I say as he smiles and I feel Johnattan's hand that is on my waist grip it firmly.

"Thank you and farewell," he walks away from us and I look up at Johnattan to see his jaw clench.
