*Sparrow’s POV*
“There.” Whispered Angel. “Twist that one some more.”
The chains holding us down were different. There’s were the same, no way out. But mine had screws that could be taken out. I began twisting the screw until it came out. The chain on my right hand popped open having nothing to hold it together. I began looking in the darkness for the screw on my left hand as my feet weren’t chained.
Angel’s hand came over feeling around the clasp to help me. “Is she out?” Jake whispered from across the room.
We figured Izzy and her henchman were gone right now looking around for Crystal but we couldn’t be too sure so we were being as quiet as possible.
“Just about..” Her hand started tapping. “There, there it is.”
I unscrewed as fast as I could and soon I was free. I stood up on shaky legs and slowly crept around. I tiptoed up to the door and listened. I heard nothing. The room must’ve been empty. I moved back over to Angel and Jake. “No one’s there.” I whispered. “Should I find something to get you out?”
Jake shook his head. “Get out as fast as you can.” He said quietly. “Find Crystal, she’ll probably be in the hospital knowing that bitch, and tell her and the police where we are.”
I shook my head. “I can’t leave without you guys!”
“Sparrow baby..” I walked over to Angel and nuzzled my face into her neck.
“Yes love?”
“You need to go.” She whispered, her voice choked with tears. “I want you safe.”
I shook my head again, tears running down my face. “I can’t leave you. I love you!”
She brought her arms as far out as she could to hug me. “Sparrow-”
“My name’s Alice.” I interrupted.
“What?” She seemed shocked.
“My real name.” I replied. “It’s Alice.”
She pulled my face to hers and kissed my deeply. “I love you Alice.” She whispered in a way lovers would to each other, in a way that was so sacred it seemed wrong to be doing in this room. “I swear to you, I will see you again. I will never leave you and when we get out of here, I’m going to marry you.”
I smiled and gave a little laugh. “Was that a proposal?”
“You bet your ass it was.”
I hugged her tight and pulled back to passionately kiss her. “I accept.”
Footsteps were then heard shuffling above us. “He’s awake.” Jake whispered, fright in his voice. “You have to go, now.”
I nodded. “I’ll come back for you guys.” I promised. “I swear.”
With that, I turned and crept back up the stairs and listened at the door a moment. I listened to him walk around the room then leave. I slowly pushed the door open and tiptoed out. It was a barn. There was even a horse. I shook my head in disbelief and continued moving. I left the barn and looked around. Up the driveway was a large country house. It looked beautiful but Izzy might have been in there. I slowly walked down the driveway to the road. When I felt it safe enough to bring any attention to myself I began running as fast as I could. There were no cars on this road but if I got far enough I could find someone to take me to the hospital. I came up to a gas station and realized this road finally had people. I stopped running and put my hands on my knees to catch as much air as I could. I began waving my arms to get someone’s attention. A woman stopped what she was doing and stared at me. She nudged her husband and pointed. I looked both ways and crossed the street to them. “Help me.” I wheezed. “I need help.”
