I sat at my desk watching the clock intensely. I took a chance and glanced around, but I quickly locked back onto the clock.

2 more minutes.

That was the thought in everyone's head as we uniformly looked at the time. No one dared look away. Because, as we all know, if even one person does not gaze upon the clock, time will come to a screeching halt and then we will never escape this hell.

RING RING

The bell resounded throughout the school and chairs could be heard scraping across the floors as children ran out of their classrooms. Finally, it was time for what every student, ever, looks forward to when a new school year commences. Summer Break.

I walked through the hallways, unable to keep myself from smiling as I thought about my summer plans. Obviously, like every other teenager who enjoys the warm and free season of summer, my plans for the break were to stay at home and watch netflix, while eating random junk food.

I reached my locker and put in my combination. As my locker swung open, I was hit with a horrible stench and a pile of miscellanious items fell out of my locker onto me. Suprised by the impact, I fell flat on my behind and groaned as I hit the floor.

Gathering my wits, I look at the objects that lay scattered around me. From across the hall I could hear giggles and taunts from the rest of the student body.

"Just great." I muttered to my self as I stood up and brushed myself off. "Garbage, thats really original."

I sighed in frustration as a familiar blonde, and her mindless whor- I mean friends, walked towards me.

"Oh goodness, Lexy. Look at the mess you've made. You know all your doing is giving your dad extra work, Right?" She sneered at me. "Ah, Lucy. I'm not supposed to talk to you. Last time we had a coversation, I dropped a letter grade in english." I answered, not feeling like putting up with her crap.

The blonde gasped at my apparent rudeness and stalked off towards the school parking lot. I'm still not sure how she stalks anywhere in those heels. I shook off my encounter of the blonde-kind and picked up what I could of the garbage. I looked at the time and grabbed the last of my things, racing to the buses. Thankfully, my bus is the last to leave and I was able to get on before it left.

I sat down and sighed, listening to the shouts and laughs coming from the back of the bus. I looked directly in front of me. Since my seat is the one right next to the door, there was nothing blocking my view of the street in front of the bus. After spending two years on this bus and in this seat, I guess you could say I knew the route pretty well. So, when the substitute bus driver took a wrong turn, I noticed.

"Excuse me, Sir. I think you should have turned left, not right." I said, leaning out of my seat.

The sub gave me a strange look and I noticed a thin layer of sweat on his forehead.

"There was an accident, I have to take an alternate route." He answered after a minute. "Oh, OK." I said.

I relaxed back into my seat and watched the unfamiliar road pass by. I watched buildings pass and suddenly the ground became dusted with sand, steadily getting thicker. I wrinkled my brow in confusion and turned to the bus driver.

"Um, sorry, me again. Your taking us out of the city. There are no stops outside of the city." I said. "I know." He said, flashing me an evil smirk.
