Jaehyun, your childhood friend, smiled and nudged you to the boy you'd been wanting to ask out for a while.
"Come on, Y/n! He'll say yes, trust me. Who would say no to you? You're amazing!" He pushed you inch by inch and you bit your lip, to keep from smiling.
"Really? Thank you Jaehyun!" You turned around and hugged him for a second and then gave him a thumbs up before walking over to the boy.
Jaehyun's smile was still plastered onto his face, but something inside him didn't feel right. He didn't know what it was, but it's been bothering him a lot lately. It was usually whenever you were talking to another boy, but he didn't know why. He didn't like you, did he?
He shook his head, you wouldn't like him anyway, it's useless. He sighed a bit and slumped his shoulders, staring down at his feet. He looked back up when he heard a loud squeal. You apparently squealed but you were trying to brush it off and act cool. He chuckled at your actions, how you'd always be embarrassed by everything you did.
He loved it though. He loved every little flaw about you, as bad as you thought it was. He loved the way you would always knock something over or trip because of how clumsy you were, he loved how you'd always stutter a bit in front of your class whenever you did a presentation, he loved how you were fascinated with nearly everything, he loved everything about you.
He'd fallen quite hard for you, but he didn't know it.
You hugged the guy, wrapping your arms around his neck and bringing your face close to his. You laughed and motioned for him to stay as you ran to Jaehyun.
"Jaehyun, you were right! He said yes!" You hugged him once again and pulled away quickly, making his smile falter a bit.
"That's great, Y/n!" He said excitedly, and you nodded.
"I have to go now, he's going to walk me to class!" You were about to turn around when Jaehyun grabbed your hand.
"Wait, Y/n! We always walk to fifth period together!" He protested, trying to give you puppy eyes. You shook your head, frowning.
"I'm sorry Jaehyun, just this once? I'll walk you home on Monday to make up for it!" You smiled, trying to cheer him up. He smiled a bit.
"Okay... Promise?" He asked, tilting his head. You nodded, intertwining your little pinger with his.
"Promise. I have to go now! Wish me luck!" You gave him another thumbs up and he smiled, watching you hold the other boys arm. He frowned as you walked away, him completely out of your sight.
He sighed, frustrated with himself. He kicked the trash can near him.
"I should be happy for her, not sad. What are you doing, Jaehyun?" He violently whispered to himself. He turned around and looked back, but he only caught sight of your hair and backpack as you turned the corner.

"Ah, Y/n! Over here!" He waved to you as he found you. It was after school and it was Monday, so as you promised, you were going to walk him to school.
That was what you both thought, at least.
"Hey, Jaehyun! You want to go to the boba shop for a bi-" You waved to Jaehyun, but you were interrupted by your new boyfriend.
"Actually! Me and Y/n were going to the park after school, sorry kid." He put on a forceful smile and Jaehyun tried not to get angry.
"But Y/n promised to walk me home, right Y/n?" Jaehyun turned to you with a pleading gaze and you furrowed your eyebrows.
"I- sorry, Jaehyun." You quickly turned around and walked away with your boyfriend, leaving a sad and angry Jaehyun behind.

"Ja- Jaehyun..." Jaehyun furrowed his eyebrows in concern as he heard your voice breaking on the other end of the line. He was about to fall asleep when you called him.
"What's wrong, Y/n?" He asked, pulling a jacket on. Did he need to come over?
"He- he broke up with me!" You sobbed out. Jaehyun tried his best not to throw his phone across the room in frustration.
"What?! Damn bastard..." He tried not to growl into the phone, but you heard it anyway.
"Jaehyun, it's not his fault! I would get why he wanted to break it off..." You tried your best to keep your voice string, but it still shook.
"That's bull, Y/n! Yes it is, your perfect! He's just blind..." He stepped out of his front door, headed to your home.
"Thank you Jaehyun, but... I don't know if I can stay alone tonight." You said, hesitating. It was awkward now that you were more grown up, but you really couldn't stay alone that night.
"I'm already on my way, it's gonna be alright." Jaehyun said softly into his phone.
He finally reached your home and hopped your fence. He was lucky your room was on the first floor, otherwise he'd need a ladder or something.
"Y/n, open your window!" Jaehyun whispered, knocking on your window. You were in the corner of your bed, rolling up into a ball. Your head was in between your knees and you looked up at the noise.
You walked over, wiping your tears before lifting the window. You backed away as he climbed in. He closed the door and sat on you bed, he looked into your eyes, waiting for you to nod. You did so and he put his feet on the bed, facing you.
You let out a weak sob and hugged Jaehyun as he hugged you back, stroking your hair.
"It's gonna be alright, I'm here, I'm here..."
There was a silence before you spoke up.
"I'm sorry, Jaehyun..." You said quietly. Jaehyun widened his eyes.
"What are you sorry for?" He pulled away for a bit and asked. You made eye contact with him, your eyes glazed with tears.
"I'm sorry for ignoring you the whole month- I don't know what I was thinking leaving you behind like that all the time. And just for that damn bastard." You grit your teeth and hugged Jaehyun again, your tears drenching in his jacket.
"I'm sorry for that, too." You chuckled quietly. Jaehyun smiled, "It's fine, Y/n, I forgive you." He put his chin on your head. When you were children you'd always been taller than him but now he was half a foot taller than you.
He began stroking your hair again. He furrowed his eyebrows once again when he realized what the feeling he kept experiencing was.
Jealousy.
That was when he admitted to himself that he'd definitely fallen hard for you.
