School had been getting out of hand. The professors seemed to have this great idea of assigning massive amounts of homework…all at the same time. And to top it all off, it was almost my birthday.
Oh joy.
“Lily!” I whined.
“What now Ella?” she asked looking up from her potions book.
“Lily, I don’t understand. I need heeelp.”
She rolled her eyes as she laid her book on the table between us and looked over my homework. She made a whole bunch of disapproving noises as she read what I had worked so ‘hard’ on. I was currently working on my divination homework, we had to decipher the meanings of dreams.
Lily grabbed my copy of ‘The Dream Oracle’ and flipped through until she found the page she was looking for. She shoved the book in my face and told me to figure it out. I stuck my tongue out at her before getting back to work.
If I fail this, it’s her fault!

Sirius’ POV
“Okay! So everyone knows the plan right? Peter, do you understand what you have to do?” Sirius asked, eyeing the pudgy boy in front of him.
The boy’s eyes went wide as he tried to remember his job. Little beads of sweat appeared on his forehead as he stared nervously at Sirius.
Sirius reached over and smacked him hard on the back of the head. “I told you already! All you have to do is not tell her anything.”
“Oh…right.”
Sirius walked out of the library, but not before checking the corridor for Ella. He didn’t want her to see him, and possibly figure out what he was doing. Her birthday was in just a few days, and he wanted to throw her a surprise party. Everyone loves surprise parties…right?
He had gotten everyone in on it, Lily, Remus, James, even Peter. At first Lily had seemed a little reluctant to help, but now she was going all out. She was seriously becoming insane with planning the party for Ella, from the food, to the music, to making the arrangements for the special guest.
The only thing that I was worrying about was if Peter would be able to keep the secret. Oh, and whether or not the special guest would arrive in time.

Ella’s POV
People had been acting weird all week. I barely saw anyone anymore, and honestly, it was bumming me out. Every time I asked Lily to hang out, she would make some lame excuse and run off in another direction. It was the same thing when I asked James and Remus to hang out, I even tried Peter! But he just squeaked and ran off as quickly as he could.
Okay…umm weird.
I had finally finished the mountain of homework and was relaxing in the common room. Alone. Like I’d been doing for the past few days. All by myself.
I could feel the tears prickling my eyes and I willed them to stay back. I wouldn’t cry. Nope. Not gunna happen.
Did I do something wrong though? I mean everyone was avoiding me. Even Sirius. My boyfriend, who had completely disappeared all week.

Sirius’ POV
I was freaking out. I knew Ella was starting to get upset, I could see it, but she was trying to hide it. I know her too well though. I was starting to feel really bad, but I still can’t tell her.
But the real reason I was freaking out, was because I still didn’t have her gift. I had looked everywhere, but I couldn’t find the perfect thing. Something that told her how I felt about her. How much she meant to me.
How much I loved her.

…hi? Do you hate me now? Gosh I hope not! You have no idea how hard I’ve been trying to write this chapter, but it hasn’t been working!! Well here’s the finished piece. I will not say when part 2 will be uploaded because I still have to write it -_-‘
