"Almost May and we've had how many accidents?" Michael questions as him and Ryan are brought into the police station. The area resembled what one would see on "Law and Order: SVU" with the detectives' desks in a two-by-two array. This was the smallest precinct in the state of South Carolina, and that fact was obvious, as there were only four detectives. Michael and Ryan sat down and waited to get their statement taken. While thinking over what happened a week and a half ago, Ryan peered into the Sergeant's office and saw his mother.

Elle, cheek still bruised and lip still wounded, was holding hands with Summer whilst reviewing the night in question, going over exactly what happened and when. All of the horrids Elle explained seemed to pain Summer more when Sergeant Leslie requested Elle to go into depth of what she meant. "And after he uncovered your mouth, then what?"

"He said 'What do you have to say for yourself?'"

"Did you respond?"

"Yes. I said these exact words: 'Her name's Summer. And I love her.' I zoned out then, thinking of her in front of me instead of him, and that's when he slapped me and I screamed, falling to the floor. No matter what happened, I just thought of her and what she would say to me if she were there." The Sergeant briefly wrote down what Elle said while she hesitantly turned to Summer, tearfully whispering, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry," as Summer pulled her close, consoling her tears and shedding some herself.

The scene was emotional for anyone, especially Ryan. Knowing that his mother needed solace from someone else indicated she once again broke. Luckily she had Summer who loved her enough to help her through this tough time. All three women exited the small office, Elle under Summer's arm, and her arms wrapped around Summer's waist as Summer brushed the hair out of Elle's face and kissed her forehead. Sergeant Leslie stopped a few feet from her door, motioning Ryan and Michael to come in. The holding cell where Bo was captured was situated halfway between the waiting room and the Sergeant's office. Michael and Ryan passed by apprehensively, but Michael had the audacity to look Bo in the face, which confused Bo because he had seen those eyes before.

He bashed against the metal bars as memories came back and festered again. "I told you tranny you should die! Two years later, you're still alive surprisingly and claiming to have witnessed me rape and beat my wife."

"Ex-wife," Elle chimed in, annoyed.

"Oh shut the hell up faggot! How do you even know this freak?" Michael was hung up on the fact that Bo called him a transwoman. Elle was more shocked at the thought of her being called, "a faggot" for the first time. Summer did her best to distract Elle from Bo in any way she could. Michael decided to question Bo on his logic, asking, "What did I supposedly look like two years ago? And what did you do to me because I can't seem to remember." With the most fear-invoking tone possible, Bo stammered, "You had long blonde hair with your exact eyes, and I tried to fuck you after I was already drunk but then I found out you didn't have a pussy, so I beat your tranny ass with a trash can lid." Michael and Elle knew what Bo meant before anyone else, and Michael began to cry because he finally knew.

Knew who had murdered his mother and destroyed his family. Worst of all, the killer was related to his love. He knew Ryan was nothing like his father, but he simply couldn't stand to look at anyone in the Daniels' family so he left. From that moment, Ryan and Michael didn't see each other at all for days until a crisis shifts their focus back to each other. After Ryan had finished giving his statement, him, Elle, and Summer went home. Michael had to give his statement later, when Ryan wasn't around.

Elle and Summer walked down the stairs after Ryan, who had nearly shot out of the station. They were holding hands and talking as peacefully as could be possible in that moment. "Do you think he'll get over it?" Elle casually questioned. "He has to. If Michael truly loves Ryan, he will see his mother's death wasn't his fault, and forgive him."

"I just don't like this situation."

"What do you mean?"

"I found happiness with you, but then Ryan loses his."

"No. No. Don't punish yourself like this. Everyone deserves to have happiness, even if someone else loses theirs." They stopped at the bottom of the stairs, Elle breathing out her frustrations into Summer's shoulder. "Alright, I got to get back to work," Summer says regrettingly. "Why?" Elle whines.

"If it makes you feel better, I can spend the night. I'll just be over later," Summer promises.

"Please do." Ryan yells to hurry up from afar, and goodbye kisses were exchanged. Elle immediately missed Summer's warm, seductive lips against hers. "One last thing. Her name's Elle. And I love her too."

********

It's too hot in here, though I'm the only one in the bed. I don't like being so far away from her, leaving her so open to torture because Lucy knows we did each other. I don't see it that way, but that's how Lucy would put it. Not to mention she could report it saying it was statutory rape because Vera is only seventeen and was drunk. Whatever. I should probably check on her to see how she's doing. I don't think I have the strength to pick up my own phone though, but I should at least try.

The bell to dismiss seventh period just rang, and Vera was walking to her locker when the song "I Want Her" by Blind Truth started to play. That song had been Raven's ringtone since they met, and hasn't changed. "Hey Rave, how's it going?" Vera greeted comfortingly.

"Let's just say, worse than last week."

"Have you been eating lately?" Feeling guilty enough already, Raven responded, "No, not since yesterday. Only because I end up throwing it up five minutes later."

Vera wasn't going to argue, so she let that slide with, "Fine. But at least try to eat some toast before I get home. No jam because you're for sure going to throw up." Vera arrived at her locker, and Lucy was at hers, which was two lockers down. "Promise me you'll eat something before I get home."

"Fine. But what are we going to do about tonight?" Vera threw her backpack in her locker, slammed the piece of metal shut, and leaned against it. "We'll have to wait another day, I guess."

"We can't wait another day! At any moment, you could be harassed and I won't be there to stop it."

"It's fine. The past few days have only been full of words like 'slut', 'faggot', and 'whore'. Nothing out of the ordinary. Besides, I don't think it's very wise for us to run away when you're basically bedridden." Vera said that a bit louder than she wanted to, hoping no one heard her last statement.

Unfortunately, Lucy heard everything. Hurriedly calling Christopher, she made sure she stayed within earshot of Vera. "Hey, what's up," Christopher answered. "I need your help."

"With what?" Christopher asked, half-sleepily.

"Taking out that fag Raven and her girlfriend."

"Take out? You mean like killing them?"

"Yes I mean killing them. If these bitches think they can fuck each other without punishment, they're so wrong."

"Don't you think that's a bit harsh?"

"No! Both of them should burn in hell, but we're going to get them there faster."

"I'm not going to do that Lucy. They did nothing wrong."

"Except be little fags in this town. I guess you can kind of relate, but look where that ended you up." At the sound of those words, Christopher gave in because there was nothing else he could do without his secrets going school-wide. "Okay, let's talk later about it."
