It was a dark and stormy night. The wind howled along with the wolves in the dark forest. The nearby small, average town seemed to shudder. Suddenly, there was a flash of light from the woods and a woman ran out of the shadows. Her face was covered as she sprinted to the town's orphanage. She held a large basket that was filled with a large blanket that appeared to be moving. Tucked into the side of the basket was a handwritten note.

The woman ran to the door, tears streaming down her cheeks and shouted, "Save them, please! I know you're there. Save them from the war!" There was a sound. It came from the basket. She muttered under her breath to the basket,"I know, Lynn, but I have to do this." and with that she gently placed the basket on the doorstep and ran into the depths of the woods.

More confused than she had ever been in her life, one of the workers opened the door and took the basket. It contained two small infants. One fussed and the worker glanced at them affectionately. They were both girls, one with bright green eyes and the other with violet eyes. As the worker watched, she saw the one with the violet eyes grip the blanket tightly and whimper. The worker comforted the child and as her whimpering slowly died down, her eyes began to slowly change color. Startled, the worker looked at the note instead. She read the note aloud. It said in a hasty scrawl,

The war is here. They are not safe with me. Take them. The one with the black hair and violet eyes is Lynn Brooke Sliva Stone, and the one with brown hair and bright green eyes is Quinn Amicus Leto. Protect them... PLease. I only can hope that I am making the right decision... Give this note to a worker named Kalila, but only after you ask her these three questions: What are their names? How did you get here? Who are you?. The correct answers to these questions are on the back of this note. Unusual things will happen to both of you, but you must have faith in me and know that it will be alright. DO NOT TELL ANYONE about the dreams, Lynn and Quinn, except for the person that receives this note and basket.. That goes for the person who finds this basket and reads this note. I am sorry, Lynn, but I had to do this. Quinn, your mother misses you and hopes that you will be alright with all her heart. Tell them it is from Lynn's mother, and show them the basket. Keep them until they are ready to face the world. I will come back to see them, and I will take them back to our world, where they belong. Educate them and teach them right from wrong, and teach them to fight for justice. Help them grow and learn. I will know when they are ready. Trust me.

The worker flipped the card over.

1.Lynn and Quinn.

2. I ran into the light and the hope for the future. It is still inside me.

3. I am the one who has changed the lives of the ones who believe not in the dark, but in the light.

4. 13-QL-LS

And the note ended with those cryptic, future life changing words. With those words, the worker took the two younglings inside and tucked them into two beds, snuggling them in blankets, two sweet bundles of gurgling innocence.
