Ethan sighed, staring at the television in front of him. He choosing to look ahead of him instead of looking at his boyfriend of six months, Liam. He was tense, it was no lie. He'd been stressed out all day and his super attractive friend slash boss didn't help the matter. Liam's clinginess didn't help either, but he was choosing to ignore it. Don't make eye contact, don't say anything. He hadn't been happy with his boyfriend for weeks, but he didn't have the heart to break up with him. Ethan didn't want to be alone anyway, but he was beginning to wonder if being lonely was better than leading this guy on.

"You okay babe?" Liam's voice brought him out of his thoughts. It took all of Ethan's strength to not roll his eyes. Liam knew that he hated being called babe, but continued to choose to call him that. Ethan continued to stay quiet, afraid his voice would betray him and tell his boyfriend how he really felt.

"Ethan, I'm serious. Did I do something wrong?" He asked. "If it's me just tell me so I can fix it." Ethan sighed deeply, turning to look at his boyfriend. His face was emotionless, as it had been for months, it seems.

"You did nothing wrong, but you can't fix this. It's me, I can't do this. I can't lead you on. I can't look at you, I can't love you. I don't love you. I've tried, I really have, but I'm in love with someone else that will never love me, so I tried to fucking settle and it's gotten me here, emotionless and exhausted of half assing a relationship that was dead before it began." Ethan said, standing up. "I'm going home, I'll bring your stuff over tomorrow. I'm sorry, Liam." With that, the blue haired boy grabbed his keys and walked out of his boyfriends apartment.

Ethan didn't know why, but instead of going home like he said he was, he found himself sitting at the Starbucks down the street from Mark's office. Surely, he was still there but Ethan had left for a "movie night" with Liam two hours ago, it'd be weird if he walked back into the office now. For some reason, he felt one hundred times better, like a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. Sure there was the situation where Ethan found Mark completely irresitable and was hopelessly in love with him even though Mark would never give him the light of day. Still, he found himself picking up his coffee and heading towards the office. Of course, when he got there, the only person there was Mark, with his headphones on and focusing on his computer screen. Ethan sighed, turning his monitor on and beginning to edit. There was no such thing as being too prepared.

A couple hours later, Mark waved his hand in front of Ethan's face, bringing the blue haired boy out of his trance. Glancing at the clock, Ethan was surprised to find it was already pushing midnight. Mark had a concerned look on his face as he looked at Ethan. Something was different. Maybe it was the fact that the older boy was undeniably in love with the blue boy, even if Ethan was in a relationship. Maybe it was the fact that Ethan looked exhausted, like he hadn't slept in days.

"Ethan, are you okay?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at his friend. Ethan nodded, slipping his headphones off and stretching, a yawn escaping his lips.

"Yeah, I'm great Mark, why?" he asked. Mark frowned, knowing Ethan was lying to him and Ethan wanted nothing more than to kiss the frown off of his face.

"I think you need to take a break, Eth. You look exhausted. When was the last time you properly slept? What happened to movie night with Liam?" Mark questioned, his frown not leaving.

"I don't need a break. I'm fine, Mark. I slept last night. I broke up with Liam." Ethan told him, grabbing his sweatshirt off the floor. He wanted out of here before he did something he would regret.

"Why did you break up with him?" Mark asked. "You guys were happy." Ethan shrugged, not looking his friend in the eye.

"I'm in love with someone else. He just won't give me the time of day." he said.

"Who is it? Maybe I can set you up! C'mon, Blue, I want you to be happy!" Mark said. "And to sleep properly, you dirty liar." Ethan let out a laugh. Of course Mark saw right through the sleep thing, he knew insomnia more than anyone.

"It doesn't matter. I promise, it's just a crush, I'll get over it." Ethan said.

"You don't know that! I could set you up and you guys could get married and thank me at your wedding because you wouldn't be together without me!" Mark said. Ethan just shook his head, already frustrated with his friends antics.

"So, you're going to set me up with yourself, and if we get married, I'm going to thank you for setting us up?" He laughed, being sarcastic as possible. "I don't see that working out since it's not a mutual feeling."

"Who said it's not?" Mark said, his voice dropping to a whisper. He couldn't believe what Ethan was telling him. His ears were decieving him, there was no way Ethan liked him back. He'd had a crush on him since the moment he started working for him, but Ethan had a boyfriend and he wasn't going to ruin it.

"Oh come on! You're Markiplier. You could have any person in the entire world, theres no way you like me back. I get it, it's funny. Ethan is in love with his boss. Ha ha so funny." Ethan said. "Ethan broke up with his boyfriend because every time they were intimate, he thought of his boss instead of his boyfriend. So funny. I'm dying of laughter" Before he could continue, he was cut off by Mark's mouth on his. He kissed back, feeling like he was going to burst into tears. After a few moments, Mark pulled away, grinning.

"Did you really think about me while you had sex? That's a little messed up Ethan." Mark laughed.

"Yeah, well he wasn't very good and it made it seems better if I imagined it was you." Ethan said, feeling his face heat up at the confession. Mark burst into laughter, wrapping his arms around the blue boy and kissing his forehead. Ethan felt safe, smiling into Marks chest, inhaling his cologne. Mark was home to him, and he couldn't deny it. He was still trying to process what was happening, but he just knew it was a good thing. A postive change.

"You're not coming into the office tomorrow. I'm not coming into the office tomorrow. You're staying at my place and you're going to sleep or I am going to smother you with a pillow so you will sleep." Mark said with a chuckle. "Maybe we can see if your imagination stands up to the real thing, if you're up to it. Ethan groaned, smacking Mark's chest. Of course, Mark wouldn't let it go, but he didn't expect anything else from his best friend.

"Just shut the fuck up and kiss me" he mumbled. So Mark did.
