NADICA

"Baby girl, come on get up."

I shake Nia, as she wraps deeper in the covers. I don't know why she does this. She knows we go through this every morning.

"Come on baby. You got school."

She whines as I tug on her sheets.

"Well I guess you don't wanna go to the park today ..." I say turning on my heels walking toward the door. She snaps her little body up and runs to the bathroom. I automatically hear the water running and her dora toothbrush singing toons. I can't help but giggle at her.

I shake my head as I pick out her red leggings, a white shirt that says "You mad or nah?" in black and her infrared 3's. I lay it on her bed, knowing her she wants to get dressed by herself. She's becoming to much to handle now days. 18 in a 4 year old's body. I run the bath water for her and add all her toys in it. I bath her for a good 30 minutes.

"Damn" I whisper more to myself as I'm looking in my closet for something to wear.

I'm not going anywhere except dropping Nia off, and then taking her to the park after. I get frustated and grab high waist acid-washed jean shorts, a white shirt with "Last kings" written in red, and some new red converse. I hopped in the shower and then put my hair in a neat high ponytail letting it swing as I sway my hips.

"Mommy, we gonna be late!" She whined and stomped her feet. I know this little girl is not rushing me.

"Nia" I warned her.

She sat down and finished her cereal with a low "Yes ma'am".

I couldn't stop the frown on my face from appearing on my face, when she looked sad.

NIA

I wasn't trying to be mean to mommy, I just didn't wanna be late. That's it. I love her.

NADICA

Nia is my world. And the only reason why I'm still here trying.

"Babe" I called for her.

"Yes mommy?" She answered.

"I'm looking forward to the park, I heard they had a new swing set." I smiled.

"Really mommy!? Will you push me?"

She sounded so excited and it warmed my heart, I don't know what I would do without her.

"Yes baby now come on" I held out my hand, and she grabbed it. I picked her up and set her on my hip, I walked to the door as she smiled and kissed my cheek.

That's my baby.
