The Young Shimada

Hanzo watched as his son ran around the training grounds. The young boy's blonde hair only reminded him of his lover.

She was beautiful, she had long blonde hair and large brown eyes filled with a need for adventure. When she had joined Overwatch he was worried that she would get fatally wounded but she proved him wrong.

The woman he loved was an attack hero and constantly needed healing which worried him more than anything, especially after she had Salem. For five years she took care of Salem with him and for those same four years she was continuously put into the field. Hanzo always worried but she always came back alive.

Until one day.

One day the team came back heavily wounded and very upset. Hanzo looked for her with Salem but she couldn't be found. When he would ask others for her location they would just tell him to ask Mercy.

He eventually gave in and went to Mercy. When he asked Mercy she took held his hands and explained how his love sacrificed herself so the team could retreat back to the ship, if it wasn't for her no one would have made it back.

Hanzo didn't believe his ears, she sacrificed herself so everyone else could live. He was in shock, the man who was known for always being serious stood in front of Mercy sobbing.

That was six years ago.
