"Hello?" his deep voice answered the phone on the third ring.
I cleared my throat, "Hey, Justin."
"Oh. Hey, Hazel." I could tell he was rolling his eyes on the other line.
"See... About last night..."
"Save it for the birds, Hazel. I am always trying to be there for you when all you do is shit like this. I thought we agreed not to party like this? Yeah, one of the people at the party told me everything. And they told me about the new dude, too. Think I wouldn't find out, huh? Well, you thought wrong. I cannot believe this. And you probably think I'm just gonna forgive you, and forget it. Well, I'm not."
I sat there cross-legged on my bed, speechless. I didn't even think he could talk this fast.
I didn't think he was going to find out. Ugh, why must I make the stupidest mistakes?
"Okay, Justin. I don't care if you don't forgive me. Just know that," my voice started breaking, "I'm sorry." then I hung up.
I realized a couple tears drew down my face, but I quickly dried them up and wiped my face off as soon as I heard my mother coming down the hallway.
"Where did you go last night?"
"You wanted me to leave, so I did." I'm surprised she heard me, I had my head down and my voice low.
"I know that, dumb ass. Who did you stay with?"
I thought of someone she approves of.
"Dude, chill. You act like I stayed with a stranger."
"Knowing you, you probably did."
"I stayed with Anna."
I felt the tension in the room fade.
"Well.. Alright. As long as you make time for your friends as well as your boyfriend then I guess it's fine."
I nodded, putting the fallen hair behind my hair.
I loved my mother, but she was always a bipolar bitch to me.
I'm glad she usually took the boys to her boyfriend's house when she left. If she didn't, I wouldn't even have a life!
I don't even have a father to to, so she's all I have anymore. Well, better try my best to stay on her good side....
"What are you doing tonight, Hazel?" she asked.
"Well..." my phone buzzed.
-I'm coming to pick you up in a little bit.
I smiled, but the second I knew she was staring at me, I stuttered, "I uh-Duh-Uhm.. Probably staying with Haly." Who the hell is Haly?
She raised her eyebrows, "well okay then."
"Her brother is coming to get me later. His name is Matthew."
"Whatever," she was flipping through channels on the living room television now.
Good cover up, because she doesn't like Justin.
I texted Justin and told him to come get me, and it thankfully took him enough time to come get me because I had already taken a shower, shaved, and wore some sexy panties and a sexy bra. I'm sleeping with him tonight. Bet.
His truck pulled in front of my house as I ran out of my bedroom with my car charger.
"Bye, mom," I yelled from the living room door.
