I knew what was coming. I could hear her footsteps coming down the hallway. She sounded angry.

"Hazel! Get your fat ass up and do something! All you ever do is sit around in your room!"

I looked down and wiped my eyebrow for procrastination. "Sorry, mama. What do you want me to do?"

"Leave! I can't stand looking at you!"

I grabbed an old empty purse and put in a few panties, shorts, shirts, and jeans. Along with my straightener, make up, and my cell phone charger.

She wants me to leave, I thought, fine I'll leave.

She was coking dinner for her piece of shit boyfriend, Tyler, and for my little brothers, Jacob and Clayton.

I texted Justin, my boyfriend.

-Hey, mom like, kicked me out. Are you home?

-Yeah, but my sister is here. What happened, love?

-You know how she is.

-Sorry, baby. Where are you?

I didn't text back. I don't want him worrying about me and my problems when he has problems of his own.

I walked until it was completely dark outside. But at least I made it to town.

I stop at Sonic, to see if my friend, Jaxon is working. Whoo, thank goodness he is. We make eye contact and he sees how upset I am. A moment later, he's bringing out my favorite: Watermelon Dr. Pepper. He put his hand on my back and walked to sit across from me at the table.

"Did she do it again?" He asks. Ugh, Jaxon was gorgeous. He was tall with abs, perfectly brown hair. The color of dark chocolate. His eyes were baby blue on the outside and light green in the middle and brown around his pupil. Oh, Jaxon, why do you have to like boys?

I snapped back to reality, "yeah.. I guess. I'm just tired of the stuff she does to me." He put it on thinking face. "Hazel! I've got it! I'm having a bonfire tonight. You are soo invited."

"Jaxon, what the hell? You know I don-" He interrupted me, "Ssh, ssh, ssh," pointing his index finger on his perfect lips, while on the phone.

"Matthew! Hey! Yes, this is Jaxon. Haha, you've guessed right. My place. Half an hour. Invite some people, but only people I know. Uh uh. Oh oka- oh okay. Bye!"

I don't tell Justin the stuff I do behind his back. Call me a horrible girlfriend, but it's just for the best of him. I mean, it's not like I cheat or anything like that. He hates the stuff I do. He hates who I hang out with. He hates the music I listen to. We probably shouldn't even be together, but he claims he loves me and is so scared of losing me. He's tall, with curly brown hair. His eyes are steel gray, and the way he carries himself is just amazing. He doesn't cheat. Even when the facebook sluts message him on there, he never messages back. Maybe he does love me, but not for who I really am.

"Hazel," I was staring down at my cup when he gently said my name.

Jaxon was smiling like an idiot at me when his friend said my name.

Who is this kid? Why is he looking at me like he knows me?

"Hazel, let's go." Jaxon said, still smiling. What is he up to?
