Chapter 4: Little Helpers

"Shin! Shin! Wake up!" Shin's mother called out to him from the kitchen. Shin slowly got up, realizing that it was again, another new day. He put on his under garments first then donned his crimson armor, piece by piece. "Shin! Breakfast is ready!" again, Shin's mother called out to her. "I'm coming, mom." Shin replied and rushed to the dining table and took his seat. In front of him, breakfast was all set; a stack of flapjacks, fried eggs, wild bacon and a glass of orange juice. A real power breakfast it was.

After finishing his breakfast and thanking his mother for the food, Shin put on his sword and shield and went out of the house. There, he met up with Ronald and Miku. "Oh, Shin. Good morning." Ronald greeted and Miku followed, "Good morning, Shin." she smiled. "Good morning, you guys. Where are you headed off to?" Shin greeted and asked. "Didn't you hear? The Felyne Negotiator is in town! We're heading to where she is, right now. Wanna come with us" Ronald said. "Sure!" Shin said excitedly. "The Felynes she's bringing can help us in hunting during solo missions and can also aid us at home with cooking and stuff." Miku explained while the three of them were walking. "That's great! Mom can sure use the help at home!" Shin replied, excitement lingering in his tone.

Shortly, they arrive at the village square where newbie hunters lined up to get a look at what the Felyne Negotiator had for them. The line was long and it seemed like it would take hours to wait for their turn but the three of them decided to wait until they could finally have a chance to get their own Felyne comrades. After several hours of waiting, they finally got their turn.

"And how may I help you youngsters?" the Felyne Negotiator spoke. She was an short old wyverian, probably 100 years or more. "Hello, Ma'am. We'd like to each have our own Felyne comrades." Shin replied to the negotiator. "Ahh. Yes, yes. Isn't that why you're all here afterall." the old negotiator chuckled. "Now then..For you young lady, I think I have the right ones for you." she continued, pointing to Miku. "Meiko. Ran. Come here!" the old negotiator called out. Immediately, two cat-like humanoids known as Felynes came rushing to the old woman. One brown, and one black with a white spot on its forehead. "At your service, nya!" said Meiko, the brown Felyne. "We're ready to work now, nya!" said Ran, the black Felyne with the white spot on its forehead. "Oh, wow! They're so cute!" Miku squealed and grabbed them both into her arms. "I'll take them both!" she exclaimed happily and gave the Felyne negotiator the payment for the both of them.

The old negotiator then turned to Ronald. "Now you, young man. You seem like a strong and brave fellow. I've got the right pair for you. King! Jack! Come here!" the old negotiator called out. Again, two Felynes came rushing to the negotiator's side. One was white with black stripes. The other was plain gray. "We're here, nya!" said King, the white one with black stripes. "Are we gonna fight now, nya?" asked Jack, the gray Felyne. "Wow..." was all that Ronald could say. "These two look really strong indeed. Alright! I'll take them!" Ronald exclaimed and quickly paid for both of them.

Lastly, the old Felyne negotiator turned to Shin. "Hmm..You're quite the unique one. I can sense something special in you, young man. I've got the perfect ones for you. Vincent! Azrael! Come here!" the old negotiator called out. Two Felynes came rushing to the negotiator's side. One of them was jet black with white paws. The other was the opposite; cream white with black paws. "We're here to serve you, nya!" said Vincent, the black Felyne with white paws. "Please take good care of us, nya!" said Azrael, the white Felyne with black paws. "Wow...They're great! Thank you, Ma'am!" Shin smiled and paid for them both. 

After getting their own Felynes, each of them went off their separate ways. "Where are we headed to, nya?" Vincent asked Shin. "We're going home, you both. Tomorrow, we'll head to the Felyne blacksmith and get you both armors and good weapons. "Alright, nya!" Azrael nodded and followed Shin home along with Vincent.

Shortly, Shin and his two new Felyne comrades arrived home. "Hey mom! We're home!" Shin called out to his mother. "'We'? Did you bring guests, Shin?" Shin's mother asked as she went out from the kitchen. "I was just finishing up dinner for us bo----Oh my. How cute. Are they your new comrades, dear?" Shin's mother asked, astonished to see the two Felynes. "Yeah mom. This black one is Vincent. And this white one is Azrael. They'll be helping you out around here too when I'm off duty." Shin smiled. "Pleasure to meet you, nya!" Azrael bowed. "We'll do our best, nya!" Vincent bowed as well. "Oh my, how courteous of you both. It's my pleasure to meet you both as well!" Shin's mother giggled. "From now on, guys, you'll be living with us! Make yourself at home!" Shin chuckled and patted both of the Felynes' heads. "Thank you very much, nya!" both of them said in unison with a happy smile.
