You can find it in your face, below your nose and just an inch above your chin. It is a cave for the food to pile in and replenish your body. But mostly, it is used to communicate to people -to connect. But as I looked at my surroundings it seems that the people forgot, they forgot the most dangerous power it wield, the power to kill in just a click of their tongue.
In this "20 o' 17" year where people practice their freedom of speech in their democratic countries. Where millennials are not satisfied to just shout out their feelings. When it is a need for them to paint their walls in red for everyone to know and see what's in their mind.
But what are the limits of your so called "rights"? Is it until you hurt someone verbally? Until someone is seen hanging inside their room with the people's words acting as the rope choking the poor person to death? Is that where we draw the line?
In this "20 o' 17" where millennials use their mouth, not to connect to people but to spit venom to their target. Cursing you as a son of a gun just for rooting another fandom. Where millennials raise their middle finger and says "f you" just because it is trending on twitter. Where millennials will attend rallies for the sake of a new profile picture. Where millennials will be in favor to this politician, this law, without knowing the situation because they wanted a new update for their facebook status. Where millennials treat depressed people as a whiny prepubescent mammals who wants attention. Where millennials will look at you from head to toe and judge you for being a pig, a skeleton, a nigga, a dwarf or an orge because you did not pass the society's preference of perfection.I welcome you to 2017 where your intelligence is based on how fluent you are in english. Where your grades determine your worth as a person. Where people think you wanted to be freakin raped because of what you're wearing. Where pre-marital sex is the new "it". Where people choose to rant on social media instead of using solving the problem. Where people choose to bite their tongue when they know it in theirselves that it was wrong. Where people choose to be swayed by the flowery tongue of those filthy politicians and accept the bouquet of roses and hold on to them tightly when they know from the start they will just bleed. Where people exchange their "rights" for the sake of money then later on bluster to people and social media about having a corrupt government. Where people blame their mistakes and misfortunes to others.
And we call ourselves today the hope of our nation? Yeah, we sure are, note the sarcasm.
You might just shrug this off and don't care. You may have a law signed the by the senators of this republic to back up your action. Claiming your right to speak. But remember this. Yes, the law gave you a freedom to speak and be heard, but did it gave you the right to degrade one's self-esteem? especially when God knows how long it took them to build it?
