Post Civil War fix-it

The Setup

The past year and a half had been h-, well, near hell. What with finally putting that bast- uhh, jerk Ross away for, basically, ever (Brucie, your my sciencebro, I'd do anything for you!), mentoring Peter (yeah, Tony was a much better father? Yeah, father figure than Howard), hanging out with Harley and his little sister (they were adorable, I mean, Uncle Tony, c'mon!), proposing to Pepper (she cried so much, pretty sure that's a yes), oh and you know editing the accords, getting Capsicle and the others their pardons and figuring out emotions (ughhh). You know the normal everyday occurrence.

But then, after all that hassle, spending two and a half years living in close quarters and actually finally communicating, like talking, face to face, can do wonders for relationships. Who knew, eh? Anyway soon, to little Cora, (Harley's little sister, and yeah she could totally be the Avatar), and Cassie (Scott's kid who sometimes came to hang out) Mr. Steve, and Miss Wanda became Stevie and Waandaa! Seriously that little girl had too much of an adorable-ness factor. Harley and Peter totally had a nerd crush on Barnes' arm (yes, Tony did build a new one. What? He wasn't gon'na let someone else do it). Turns out the B.A.R.F thing works. ("Well isn't that wizard?" Tony said with a straight face).

Still all things considered, what with the occasional glaring match ("Clint stop, seriously!" "Ow, why'd you hit me Wanda?!" "Your being annoying!"), and faux punches ("Sam." "What? I tripped!"), everything was going much better. When they thought no one was looking Steve and Tony could be seen watching the family they'd made with dopey joy filled grins (well a smirk in Tony's case). It was adorable. At least that's how Natasha described it once. Everyone else just knew to agree.

The shattered pieces were mending.

The Story

About thirty months into becoming a team again and adding in new additions (Read: Spidey, Apprentice, Buck, Panther, and Ant-Man) Thor finally came back with Banner in tow. The doctor had been . . . somewhere, he had been in contact at least. Anyway Thor and Bruce appeared and there was awe and hellos and then Steve noticed Thor's serious face.

"What's happening? What's wrong?" Thor looked around studying the room and compound, any area he could visually spot.

"I've managed to beat it here it would seem." Steve cocked his eyebrow, his shoulders tensing. Tony and Bucky moved towards the younger members of the team ready to . . . do . . . something.

"Beat what here?" Steve asked staring Thor down, sort of. It's hard to stare down a god. Thor shrugged slightly.

"I do not know. Heimdall saw something small and very ancient, and very powerful heading here, these coordinates exactly. Coming fast." Sam's eyebrows furrowed before sharing a look with Rhodey (oh, yeah they friends-ish now). Wanda now moved in front of Cora positioning herself right next to Tony and Bucky, completing a triangular formation around Harley, Cora, and Peter.

"Right, but, uh, is it y'know hostile? 'Cause nobody here is dressed for combat." Steve said now slightly nervous. That may have been an exaggeration as nearly half of those assembled didn't really need their uniforms (*cough* costumes *cough*) to fight. (See Nat, Clint, Buck, himself, Wanda, Vision, Thor, and Bruce) Even the less trained hand to hand combatants could hold their own. Before Thor could answer a slight breeze picked up in the room, the room that didn't have any form of window or door open. And the ac wasn't on. An odd whirring sound filled the room and before anyone could properly react a blue box with a light on top appeared.
