This is from my Bloody_Golden_Sam account. This is about what if Al was killed by one of the Homunculi, and Ed's hunting them down, killing them one by one, and taking there Philosophers Stone to bring Al back. He's also just like slowly dying inside and slowly losing his sanity/humanity. Ok, on to the story!
Where does this take place? Well, I guess it takes place a bit before Gluttony eats them. So a bit after Envy came to calm down Gluttony.

*730 days. That's how long Al's been gone.
Ed should know, for he's counted everyday his little brother wasn't by his side.
Al's death was caused by Envy.
Ed would never forget what Envy said to him that day.
Nor would he forget his face.

"Brother!" Al screamed as Ed fell to the ground, a raging fire in his eyes.
"Don't worry Al, I'll get you out of there!" Ed shouted back, desperately trying to get his left leg to work.
But alas, it wouldn't, as Envy had pretty much shattered the auto mail.
Envy's stupid Laugh filled the forest.
"And how do you plan to do that pipsqueak? Ling is knocked out, and the others left."
Envy's mocking smirk made Ed go ballistic.
"SHUT UP YOU STUPID FEMALE PALM TREE, AND GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY BROTHER!!!!!"
Envy's eyes darkened and his hand with the knife tightened, getting closer to Al's transmutation mark.
"Say, I wonder what would happen if I scratched this mark." Envy said darkly, as he ran the knife over the transmutation mark, almost touching it.
Ed's eyes widened. "DON'T YOU DARE!!!"
Envy's smirk grew bigger. The knife got closer.
Ed tried even harder to get up. "I SWEAR I'LL KILL YOU!"
"BIG BROTHER!" There was a flash of light and Al was gone.
Suddenly, Ed's auto mail shattered, and there was his arm.
His real arm.
But Ed was to far into shock to notice.
Envy tossed Al's lifeless suit of armour off of him and walked towards Ed.
Envy then jabbed his knife into Ed's right arm.
Ed screamed in pain.
Envy laughed psychoticly and his smirk rivaled Jeff the killer's as he sawed Ed's arm off.
"What are you doing you basterd!" Ed shouted as he clawed at Envy's hand with his left.
Envy only laughed louder and broke Ed's left arm with a flick of his wrist.
"It's not like you need this arm, as you know how to use auto mail." Envy soon cut off Ed's entire arm.
Envy tossed the knife aside and walked away.
"See ya later punk."
As soon as Envy was out of his sight, Ed turned his head towards Al's lifeless body of armor, and mourned.
He wasn't found till a few hours later, nearly dead.

Ed's jaw tightened in anger at the memory.
He swore to himself that he'd get Al back, no matter the cost.
Which was why he was hunting the Homunculi down, and killing them one by one.
He's killed six of them so far.
Envy was the only one left.
After he kills them, he takes their philosophers stone.
After he gets all seven, he's gonna use them to bring Al back.
Both his soul and body.
Then after that, he's gonna pamper and spoil the hell out of Al.
He'll even allow him to have a cat.
Ed was seriously looking forward to killing Envy.
He's gonna make his death as painful as possible.
With Envy's own knife.
The one that killed Al and the one that sawed Ed's right arm off.
How did he have it?
Well, when Ed passed by the knife, carried in the stretcher, he had Mustang pick it up.
Ed smirked as he spotted Envy.
'Don't worry Al, I'll have you back in no time. This'll be the last day without you, I promise.' Ed thought as he pounced onto Envy.
