I - Solid proof that Percy knows everyone. Well, kinda.

Percy jogged through the halls of the HYDRA base, holding a blue, milky coffee with one sugar in one hand and a memo in the other. It was a brief note from Fury.

Come to my office. Urgent. -Fury.

Percy was used to these random summons. As a level seven (nearly eight) agent, he got this a lot. When he arrived in Fury's office, charging in uninvited, as usual, he wasn't surprised to see-

"Annabeth?"

"Hello, Seaweed Brain," she replied. "How was your morning?" They often went on missions together as a perfectly coordinated team.

Percy kissed his girlfriend on the cheek, smirking as she blushed slightly. "It was okay. Better now I'm with you." She stole some of his coffee, grinning at his possessive scowl. She stuck her tongue out at him, and he snorted. The food colouring in the coffee had made her tongue blue.

Fury strode in, nodding to the two of them. "Percy, Annabeth. Good to see you. How's Sally? And the Seven?" Fury was like a second father figure to Percy and Annabeth, along with Coulson. They had all been devastated by his death.

"She's good. It was Zöe's fifth birthday last week. We haven't seen the Seven in a while - actually, we should catch up with Nico." Zöe was Percy's younger half-sister, the child of Paul and Sally. Percy spoilt her with blue ice cream every time he visited, and she absolutely doted on him and Annabeth.

Fury nodded. "You both want to know why I summoned you here. Well, the Avengers are looking for new recruits. Or rather, I'm looking for new recruits for the Avengers. They have nothing to do with it."

Percy shook his head. "No. They have no idea what real war is like, and Stark is a selfish prat. We don't need that kind of dead weight. Annabeth and I are fine on our own."

"Exactly," said Fury. "They need you. I'm not expecting the two of you to share your life history, just to stay with them, help them out, and gradually become part of the team. That's all. Besides, Natasha and Clint are part of the team. And I believe you know Thor through your parents?"

Percy sighed in resignation, and Annabeth slowly nodded.
"Okay. Just so we can spend more time with our friends. I haven't seen them since-" Annabeth paused "-since Budapest. Wow."

Percy froze. "But Coulson - since then - I mean, we must have-"

Annabeth shook her head sadly. "Neither of us made it to the funeral, remember? There was an emergency mission that came up and we were the only qualified team."

Fury tapped a biro on the desk. "Thank you. Now, get out of my sight."

"Oh, come on. Do we really need more members?" Tony Stark halfheartedly complained.

Fury sighed. "Yes. You do. Tsunami and Aegis are two of my best.
Tsunami is a level seven, almost eight, fiercely loyal and one of the most accurate marksmen with a gun and sword I've seen in many years, though from experience, it's a better idea not to give him a bow.
Aegis is level eight, and she is one of the best military strategists - and, incidentally, architects - I've ever had the privilege to meet.
Both of them also have additional powers, but it's up to them to share that."

Tony sighed. "I just feel like you think we can't cope on our own, like we need help."

Fury shrugged. "Agents Barton and Romanoff are often on missions. Thor has his own duties on Asgard and is therefore unreliable. No offense, Dr. Banner, but you're mostly a last resort for actual field work. That only leaves you, Tony, and Steve. Aegis and Tsunami are more than capable if keeping up with your group.

Besides, it's just as much a learning experience for my two agents. They work alone together, they've never fought with a group. For now, it's temporary, but we'll see how it works out."

Natasha grinned. "Did you say Tsunami and Aegis? You mean Agents Chase and Jackson, the lovebirds? We haven't seen them since-"

"-Since Budapest." interrupted Clint. "Perce still owes me ten drachma since he bet I wasn't an Apol-" Natasha slapped a hand across his mouth and his eyes widened.

"Weren't they at the funeral?" asked Clint, changing the subject.

Natasha shook her head. "Last minute mission. They were the only option. They're damn good, though."

"Yeah," said Clint, reminiscing, "Percy, Annabeth and us go way back. Do you remember when they first joined, and we were assigned to mentor them?"

"We thought it would be like babysitting, but boy were we wrong. Percy with a sword was just..."

Tony interrupted, "So you know these kids well? They're good agents?"

Natasha nodded enthusiastically, while Clint answered, "The best - of course. We trained them."

"You remember the time you tried to teach Percy to shoot a bow, Clint? He missed so badly he hit Fury in the leg-"

"And Fury was standing thirty feet behind him. Yes. We were both banned from missions for three months."

Natasha snorted. "To be fair, he warned you."

"How was I supposed to know he was left-eye dominant? It's rare to have an opposite dominant eye to hand." Clint defended himself, "and besides, Fury recovered... after a couple months. And a plaster cast. And crutches. And a heavy dose of morphine... But hey, he got better!"

Fury glared at the two bantering agents, but they ignored him. He slammed a fist onto the table.

"Agents Jackson and Chase will be joining the team, you will accept them, and - Tony Stark!"

Tony awkwardly shoved the device he was tinkering with into a pocket.

"You will not ask questions about their past until or unless they are willing to speak about it. Do you understand me? They have told myself, and Agents Hill, Barton and Romanoff about their past, and I'm sure all of us can vouch for their reliability."

A chorus of assent followed Fury's words. Clint murmured something to Natasha, but all Tony caught was the last word, something about tartar sauce. Unless he had misheard.

"They'll call when they need a pick up, but they're recovering from a mission right now, so it might be a few days."
