: Percy :

I always thought that 'dying' would be painful.  Turns out, it's not so painful when it makes you immortal.  I think this through as I look up at the stars in my room.  Yes, I said in my room.  You get some perks by being the leader of the Army of Erebos.  Today would have been my 20th birthday, instead, I was still 18. Two years I had been gone from the mortal world.  I didn't see a problem.  When I had left Camp on that fateful night, I never even considered going back.

Two Years Ago...

No one cares about the Son of the Sea God anymore.  Not since I messed up.  Annabeth dumped me and went for a son of Ares.  His name was Clyde and he looked like Ares and Aphrodite's son. He had perfect chiseled features and could best anyone in camp.  Everyone was attracted towards Clyde. It was like bugs flying towards a bright light thinking they wouldn't get burned.  No one cared about me anymore.  Leo was always off with Calypso.  Jason was always shopping with Piper.  Grover was busy being the Lord of the Wild.  Nico was never around much anymore.  I thought that maybe I should just end it there.  I could walk into the woods unprotected and let the monsters at me.  I was about to do that to but I wouldn't give anyone the satisfaction of my death.  I packed up a bag and stepped across the border.  The air became colder and the dark seemed to pool in every tree like ink.  "You were always strong, Perseus." said a voice.  It ran over me like warmth on a cloudy day.  I instantly pulled out my sword, anyway.  "No need for that, Percy." said the voice again, but this time, a man appeared from the inky blackness.  "I am Erebos, primordial god of darkness." said Erebos, the primordial god of darkness.  "Why are you here?" I asked, keeping my sword level at his chest.  "I know you feel lost.  You have no home.  Your mother is replacing you with another." he said, and it felt like he had stuck a knife in my heart and twisted.  "Ouch." I said, trying to hide the fact that he was right.  "I mean you no harm. I only wish to offer you a new home and a new family." said Erebos, a smile lighting up his face.  His black hair was slicked back and his eyes were a dark obsidian.  "Why me?" I asked, finally lowering my sword.  "Because you are strong, Percy Jackson.  I can give you want if you only lead my army.  You will be allowed to leave should you wish to." Erebos said, and I had a feeling he was being honest.  "Fine, as long as you can get me away from here." I said, sticking my thumb over my shoulder.  "Then come, hero.  I will show you your new life." he said.  And with that, we dissolved into the dark.
