Chapter 1: Sunset Meadows

Hoshi's Pov

Death
Death is what I feel.
I just got out of my stupid math class and I just wanted to go home. But I can't have that can I?
My friend Ari wanted me over at her house to help her with her homework.
She lives near this meadow with tons of Cherry Blossoms and really green grass.  Ari would always rub it in my face that it is where,

"Love Birds Come To Life,"

But that sounds super fucking cheesy. Love birds come to life? Since when do they magically come from the dead? Regardless, I have to go there just to go to her house. I walk by and I see a sign that says,

              "ѕυиѕєт мєα∂σωѕ"
         "ᵂᴴᴱᴿᴱ ᴸᴼᵛᴱ ᴮᴵᴿᴰˢ ᶜᴼᴹᴱ ᵀᴼ ᴸᴵᶠᴱ"

"Oh wow, can't wait for this," I said under my breath.
I walk through the gardens and all I see are these couples having a picnics together. All my friends tell me that I need to get in a relationship. Sixteen and alone? That's like a Yin without a Yang, it doesn't work.

But I wasn't looking for anyone at the moment, and when people do end up asking me out, they always end up leaving me because;
"You're too clingy,"
"You're so selfish,"
"Self centered,"
  Or most importantly,
" Y o u  d o n ' t  c a r e  a t  a l l , "

I just got in so many break ups, that my heart just got use to it. It usually happens two months in, so I just let it happen.

I get slowly, and slowly closer to Ari's house until I glance over and see this tall man with bright red hair and a black hoodie. I stopped walking just to look at him. I noticed he felt a presence, and looked over at me to see what's going on.
Bright blue eyes, brighter than the sky. Small but perfect freckles and beautiful smile...smile? Why was he smiling?

I give him a confusing look and tilt my head. He just gave a gentle wink.
"W-WHAT?! CREEP!" I stormed off.
He had a sad disappointing look as I left.
Why did he wink at me? What's wrong with him? He barely knows me and he winks at me? "Just forget it Hoshi, it's not like you are going to see him again anyways." I say to myself.

I arrive to my Ari's house. I go to her door and knock on it.
I could hear Ari's steps run towards the door. She immediately opens it.

"Hoshi! Finally! You took an hour just to get here! And it only takes 20 mins! Did something happen?"
I look at her with surprise she was worried about me being late.
"O-oh well you see," I put my hand behind my head.
"I just got lost in the meadows, it's just so big." I finish.
"Is that so?", She questioned suspiciously.
"Yeah, positive." I replied.

She raised her eyebrow and gave a nod. She let me in and we went to her living room. She offered tea, but I declined politely, I wasn't really in the mood for it. She sat next to me and showed me the homework she needed help with.

I assist her, but in the back of my mind, all I thought about was the red head. Why did he wink at me? Am I overthinking this? He's most likely just a homeless man trying to flirt with younger kids, but he looked my age. Have I seen him at my school? Or was he just a fuckboy?
Who is he?

  - One Hour Later -

Ari jumped up and screamed happily,
"Ahhh! Thank you so much Hoshi! You're so smart!"
I gave a smirk and said, "Sure! Anyways, it's getting late. I should head home."
Ari gave a sad but joyful look and nodded.
"Thank you for coming over and helping me."
"Of course, you're my friend."
I got up, gathered all my things, gave her a  wave goodbye, and then left.

Whew hello! I hope this is a good start to my story.
Took a good hour to make that and well, it was very much worth it!
