No one really knows where magic came from and who were the first witches and wizards. If you ask anyone, in their right mind they'll say "I don't know", or they'll simply turn their head, dodging your inquiry. Supposedly magic was always around, it was there when The Big Bang happened and when Earth was created. Magic ensured that Earth and life evolved the way it did. Land was created, oceans were created and magic finally had a place to settle down. Magic was alive and sentient, atleast in disembodied form, but magic couldn't do anything. Since humanity wasn't there magic would engulf dead animals and embody various plant life, and thus the first deities and "ghouls" were created. But it was a strange think, magic, it didn't settle equally around the globe. It was carried by the wind, it swam through te oceans, and sometimes a casual predator would pick it up and leave it elsewhere. So because of these piculiar circumstances magic was the "thickest" and most bountiful around the equator, particularly in a landmass known today as Africa, and Arabia. That's why Africa has the largest wizard to non wizard ratio. The magic "density" grew lighter toward the poles, with exceptions such as New Zealand, Scandinavia, The Canadian Archipelago and others. (From this point on this work will focus only on Africa). Particular areas in Africa exuded such magical prowess that there were often accounts of the non wizarding folk being  repelled by some places, manifesting as illness or extreme paranoia. Some of the most notable places include areas around: Lake Victoria, the Nile and Congo rivers, Mount Kilimanjaro, the West African coast, the Suez Channel. There is a logical reason as to why some small locations in the named areas repell people. When magic would embody an animal the purpose would be spreading the magic, but sometimes other animals would attack the enchanted ones, so to stop this let's turn these poor wildboars into magical repellents. It did work, but in today's world full of segregation its not the most practical thing to have people rant about headache inducing Chupacabras. When the animal would it would be bound to its location of  decesion. Animalogical deities could be found there, humanoid animals which foreshadowed the arrival of the first humans.
