Even though no one knows how and where did magic come from, they can definitely tell you the legends of the Magical Gods, atleast the African wizarding folk. The first thing anyone is ever going to tell you about is the legend of "The Keep".
"Before the dawn of men there was nature and magic. Magic was alive and appeared as light. The light split itself up into 4 - the Pearl light, the Yellow light, the Long light, and the Black light, and each wanted something different, but they couldn't just each go there way. So each light gave in a chunk of their mystic energy and so the Keeper was created. The Keeper was in charge and it ruled over and bound the remaining magic. Now each could go their way. The Pearl light was immediately captivated by fractaling light in the nearby creek, the Light bound itself with the element of Water. The Pearl light became the Maji and did nothing but create whirlpools and waves and splashes, in every body of water. Soon that became unfulfilling and Maji seeked out a friend. It was a piranha, and now Maji was finally embodied.
The Yellow Light looked for company of its own, and after a lightning strike the Light believed it found its mated as he saw a yellow glow after the strike. He approached only to find out it was a wildfire. Initially discouraged he becomes amused by the dance of the flames and he joins in. He without a thought binds with the flames and so the Moto was born. Unfortunately Moto got out of hand and his element of Fire destroyed the nature, so he fled to the desert. There he encountered the Beetle, and both ecstatic after finding friendship became one as they danced away in the flames. The Black Light was more down to earth with the black soil, he enjoyed walking along the trails where the dark pebbles greeted him. After the Light is injured after a wildboar attack, the earth beneath jumps into rescue and binds with the light. The Light recovered, but it was no longer a light, it was Dunia - the element of Earth. Dunia seeked vengeance on the wildboar and now it was possible as plants and the soil would bend to her will. When she finally located the boar, she immediately took pity and she took him into her limbo and they became one, sharing their reconciliation with others in the land. The Long Light immediately found his people in the celestial realms, the light swirled with the winds and storms and without noticing simply became the wind - suddenly he was Upepo. Still he wasn't as happy as he envied the parrots that soared so freely through the sky. This resulted in a heated race between between an Ara and Upepo. With a tied result they decide to share their victory by sharing their auras. Upepo was now embodied.
The Keeper was sad as he did not find a mate nor an element. He followed Upepo into the abyssal sky realm but he traveled too far. He was now with the stars, and the Sun surrounded by the Cosmos and by the Energy of Creation. He found his element - pure energy and life force, which he unfortunately couldn't embody. He returned to the terrestrial kingdom to seek out an animal friend, but instead he found a man, the first human. They both looked at each other and the bond simultaneously occurred. He was now Maisha but remained known as the Keeper. Together they ruled over the world, each controlling their respective element.
