Lupus and Feles

I'm a lupus in other terms a werewolf the second daughter of a human and werewolf. We don't live in a pack like in the movies were hundreds of us live together but in some places I do hear that it happens. My family lives by itself because of my mom being human and it wouldn't be safe for her if we stayed with our other family members. So now we live away from them in a small town surrounded by woods and a highway.

"Maylea, Valerie come downstairs to eat!" Mom calls up and me and Maylea jump out of our beds ready to eat something. I almost jump on top of Maylea as I jump down from my top bunk. I tumble some and right myself quickly running after her.

"Did dad go on a hunt last night?" Maylea asks as we catch the strong smell of fresh meat.

"What why didn't he take us with?" I complain even as I sit down to dig in to the feast.

"You girls have school and always end up over doing it" dad explains as he grabs a sausage and shoves it in his mouth.

"I swear you guys are more like pigs than anything else" mom chuckles smoothing my hair as I stuff my own face.

"I've told you before we have to eat like this or we'll be hungry all the time" dad tells her through a mouth full.

"Yeah I know you've said the same thing thousands of times before" mom laughs sitting down to get some food before we eat it all. "You know it is a good thing you guys bring in the meat or we would never be able to afford it"

"Maylea hardly brings in anything" I poke snickering at her when she looks up to glare at me.

"I always get the big kills you only catch rabbits" she shoots back.

"You caught a deer once by yourself now you think like you could do it whenever" I roll my eyes at her earning a growl.

"Girls" mom and dad both warn us.

"No fighting in the house I know" I grumble settling down.

"No fighting at all just because your dad says no fighting in the house doesn't mean it's okay to fight at all" mom scolds us all.

"Okay okay" I surrender getting up to go put my plate in the sink. "I'm going to school now bye"

"Put on actual clothes please and ride with your sister to school" mom stops me and I look down at my outfit. Well I am still wearing my pajamas but they could pass for just a lazy outfit. I huff and go back upstairs to change I grab a plain t-shirt and skinny jeans that mom bought me. Once I'm done I go back downstairs to wait for Maylea.

After she finishes getting ready taking longer than I did I let her drive since I don't have my license. "I have track practice after school so I'll go home by myself" I say once we're already pulling up to our high school.

"Yeah whatever" Maylea acknowledges me grabbing her bag and hopping out of the car. I follow suit and grab my bag stuffed with homework and track uniform. I slam my door and look around the parking lot for any sign of one of my friends. I see none of them even though Charlie usually waits outside for me so we can walk inside together. The girl is always moving around and doesn't like to be kept waiting so I just head inside by myself. I head to my locker to get rid of my stuff and maybe find my friends before class starts.

"Valerie!" There's one now. "Where have you been?" Sage asks coming up to my locker as I stuff my bag in.

"I just got here?" I don't know where else she would think I would be since I'm still trying to get my bag in my locker.

"There's a knew boy!" She squeals in a hushed whisper.

"Really when did he transfer?" I close my locker finally done pulling things out in place of my bag.
