Flashback
(Mark)
"I saw him enter the bathroom down the main hall," Ethan said sitting down at our table in the cafeteria.
"So the plan is in action," I said.
"Sure is," Nate said leaning back in his chair. I took a bite out of my sandwich.
"Hey babe," Kylie said walking up and sitting down next to Nate. Nate put his arm around her and kissed her on the cheek.
"Hey Kylie," he said.
"So, Adam Brian is having a huge party tonight. His parent are out of town," Kylie said giving Nate a wink.
"Sign me up!" Sullivan said.
"I'll be there," Ethan said eating s French fry. Then Kylie looked over at me.
"Count me in," I said tiredly. Parties were never my thing but might as well go.
"Great! It's going to be so much fun," she said snuggling up by Nate.
"Jenna will be there too," Sullivan said.
Jenna was Sullivan's girlfriend. She was beautiful, I had to admit, with dark brown hair and grey eyes. She was very nice and the whole school loved her. She was lucky to have a guy like Sullivan.
"Awesome," Ethan said. Nate checked his watch.
"Sorry babe, but Sully, Ethan, Mark, and I have to go do something real quick," Nate said. Kylie pouted.
"Do have to go now?" She whined.
"I'll see you in biology babe," Nate said giving her a quick kiss standing up.
"Okay. I'll save you a seat." Kylie got up and walked over to her girlfriends.
Once she left, we all made it up and headed to the bathrooms. I cracked my knuckles as we all got ready.
"You ready?" Sullivan whispered at the entrance of the boys bathroom.
"Hell yeah," Nate said.
"Lets do it," I said. Sullivan counted down from five in his hand. When his index finger went down, we burst into the bathroom.
Just as Ethan said, Jacob was there leaning over the sink. His face had tears streaked on it and his eyes were a little puffy. He had been crying.
"Hey punk, did you flood the sink with your tears?" Sullivan said. Jacob was quiet. He grabbed a few paper towels and dried his face off. I watched as he did so. I never realized how sad he looked.
"Hey punk, I said did you flood the sink with your tears?" We waiting to see if he would answer. Unfortunately for him, he didn't answer. I watched as Nate and Sullivan grabbed his shoulders and shove him against the wall.
Jacob didn't even struggle to break free. It was like he knew he had no chance of escape and decided for fate to carry on. I snickered thinking in how damaged we made this guy. Ethan joined me.
Then, Sullivan pulled out a pocket knife. Jacob's eyes grew wide in terror. It almost looked he had been in that scenario before.
"Is your accent even real or do you fake it to get the slightest bit of attention?" Nate asked. Jacob didn't answer. He started to sweat as Sullivan drew the knife closer to his face. The tip of the blade was right by his head. I smiled at the sight in front of me.
"I guess everyone was right. He is a mute after all," Sullivan said. Ethan and Nate snickered and a forced one came out of me.
Then suddenly, he yelled out. Surprised, Sullivan let him go. His knife swung by his face catching him on his eyebrow. Blood started to drop down. I stared in shock. That was the first time that knife actually cut someone.
"You little piece of crap!" Sullivan yelled. He spun around and ran out of the bathroom. He bumped into me as he left. We all followed. I snuck a quick peek behind me. Jacob was clutching his face while staring at himself in the mirror. He didn't look like he was in pain, it was more like he was disappointed in himself.
Running out of the bathroom, I felt something I haven't felt in this scenario before. I felt a strange stab of guilt and regret. I hated that feeling. For the next few days, it wouldn't go away. Every time I passed him in the hallways, that feeling got stronger and stronger and I couldn't figure out why.******
Hey guys! Sorry for the short chapter. I just wanted to do a quick flashback from the bathroom scene but from Mark's point of view. Sorry for the disappointment! The thing you are waiting for will happen shortly. I just have to tease you all first ;-)
But in all seriousness, thank you for taking the time to read this story so far! It means a lot to me. This flashback was an idea from @Dancer105208
If you haven't, go check her out! She is a great writer and will (hopefully) be publishing some stories shorty!-DragonFire
