"Jane, if Mrs. Benson comes over later tell her I left early to the market" I said casually while making the coffee Mr. Fredrick ordered, he's a regular. He used to go here all the time with his wife but she passed away recently, it's the first time he's been here since her death.
I fixed the plate of egg and bacons making a happy face before giving it over to him. "Good morning Mr. Fredrick, it's good to have you back. Hope all is well."
He looked up from his newspaper then turned to me with a slight smile, "Thank you Kate, these are lovely. My wife would've loved these, as always"
"Good morning world! Are you stoked? Because we are! I can't wait to see who these young ladies will be!" Gerald and Portia beamed on the tv, the Windston News's reporters.
"I bet you all are, you'll never know till later! Maybe you'll be the one Prince Charles or Prince Andrew will be walking with down the aisle! So heads up and stay tuned!" Oh of course, it could be you and you and you! It can be you Mr. Grumpy old man, I mocked in my head.
I can't believe millions are actually waiting on this. Don't they have better things to do? Sometimes people are too stuck with other's lives and end up wasting theirs, it's sad.
Once it was 1 I bid farewell to Jane and our other co workers then headed out, it's nice going out to see a lot of people on the streets. Kids were scattered playing tag while their mothers going crazy looking for them.
I shook my head and inhaled the breeze, why couldn't it be like this all the time? I headed towards the market, getting everything I needed. I counted all in all, I spent $120, which leaves me $15.75 plus my $20 dollars earlier, I'm good. Pay day's not till next week.
I stayed for a while looking around to the kids who begged their mom to buy them dolls and tiaras, their mom would gladly accept. I decided to buy Liz something, it's not everyday that she gets bought something.
The last time she was bought something was 5 months ago, socks. I walked over to the doll's section and found a mini doll of both the Westwood brothers, they didn't exactly look like them but they wore the same thing so I guess that's good enough.
After I paid, I went back to the apartment. Thank god I didn't have to go though the same thing over again like yesterday, I was used to it but I couldn't bare the thought of someone being killed while I was just there walking by. I felt so selfish.
"Hey Liz" I said as I see her on our couch laying down while watching the tv and for once, yes! It wasn't Windston News.
"I got you something" I handed her the dolls and she screamed and began hugging me throwing out a lot of thank you's and I love you's.
I placed the food inside the fridge and wrapped up the paper bags. I turned to see my mom looking at the receipt. "Honey I promise I'll pay you back"
"Mom really it's fine! What's mine is yours, okay? Now let's go relax" We went over to the couch and sat with Liz, a few moments later the Windston News was on. Great.
"YES! THIS IS IT! THEY'RE GOING TO ANNOUNCE THE WINNERS!" My sister yelped, I had to cover my ears while my mom calmed her down.
"Alright folks! This is it! We're about to reveal to you the 7 lucky girls to get a chance to enter the Palace!" Gerald boomed while waving the card he had on his hands tauntingly
Next they showed an interview they had with the brothers taken yesterday but never aired till now, "I can't wait to know these lovely ladies, I'm pretty nervous actually. Andrew on the other hand is practicing his Westwood charm. He's taking it well, I'm impressed" Charles said and they all laughed
"Well I'm sure that's because I'm more mature than you are even if you're a year older" Andrew teased and they began throwing jokes back and forth. Soon it ended and they thankfully went back to Gerald and Portia.
"Finally! Let's get this over with so my sister can stop staring at the tv all day, the electricity bills are piling up" I joked then began tickling Liz while she squirmed in my arms
"So, I guess we're all ready. Before we tell you our lucky women, let's give it up for Prince Charles Westwood of Windston and Prince Andrew Westwood of Windston!" My sister jumped on the couch when the brothers entered and waved.
Although I never fancied them, I can't deny that they have killer looks, they're like identical twins! How aren't they born on the same day? Gerald and Portia shook hands with them and said their pleasures
"To find out our lucky ladies, we must ask the both of you to pick from the jar" Gerald said to them while Portia helped putting the massive jar on the center, and I'm telling you, when I say massive it's really massive.
"I'll go first" Charles announced but Andrew stopped him, "wait I go first, I'm younger" they all laughed while I just looked at the tv blankly.
"Alright, shake shake shake" Andrew said and began twirling his hands in the jar. He dug his hand deep and pulled it out, there on his hand was a tiny piece of paper. He kissed it and pumped his fist in the air. Charming.
In the end, Charles got 4 and Andrew got 3. Of course they argued for the last one but Andrew had no choice, Charles was older.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, brace yourselves. We're about to announce to you the winners," Portia began and unruffled the paper
"Our first lucky girl is Samantha Theves of Ireland" the Princes began making amused faces
"Next we have Nancy Huntington of Europe, from England!" Gerlad announced and Charles did a salute facing the camera
It seemed to go on for so long, I couldn't wait for it to finish so the whole world can turn off their tv and save earth. The other girls announced were named Adriana Fernandez of Brazil, South American, Lindsay Burton of Cape Town, South African, and Veronica Marshwell of Canada, Canadian.
"No Americans?" Andrew whined but still kept it proper
"Don't be negative" Charles said slightly smiling
"I was asking" he retorted. I wonder if they were always like this, I bet their parents will lecture them later about how to act around cameras. I mean they're royals.
"Our sixth lucky lady is Andrea Bell of United States of America!" They all said a finally then continued
"Drum roll for this could be you! Congratulations to our seventh lucky girl, Kathrynne Paxton!" Finally it's over! We can all go back to relaxing and saving our electricity!
Wait what?
