Shikamaru stood on the porch of a house belonging to the Hima's two days later. Shaking slightly with nerves, he somehow managed to pluck up the courage to knock on the door. Mr.Hima answered it.

Elsewhere in the house Rei Hima was pacing her room, scared to death.

"Why are you so scared Rei? Shikamaru is a nice man, and he likes you a lot." Mrs.Hima said in an attempt to calm her daughter.

"I know but I can't help it. What if something goes wrong? What if he-" Rei was cut off by a knock on the front door. She looked at her mom and made her way down the hall to greet Shikamaru.

"And if you even think about touching her-" Rei cut her father off with a book to the back of the head.

Rei looked at Shikamaru and it was like time stopped. All their nerves vanished.

"I got it from here Dad!" Rei yelled, waving goodbye as she dragged Shikamaru out of the house and down the street.

Once the couple finally slowed down, they walked hand in hand to a small festival being held in Konaha. They ate ramen from Itchiraku's and played games that were designed to make you fail.

"Rei, its impossible. No one ever wins this game." Shikamaru sighed at his enthusiastic date.

"Watch and learn Shika!" Rei said before turning around and shocking the game owner and her date. Needless to say she walked away with a giant stuffed bunny.

"Troublesome woman, you never cease to amaze me." He said, smiling slightly, looking at the ground.

Rei giggled before dragging him off to another game.
