It was no secret that Rumy was cold hearted, that she would betray nearly anyone for the right deal. It was assumed that she was raised that way, or even born evil. No one knew that there was a time when Rumy was innocent, and kind. A time before deals and magic. There was a time when Rumy actually loved someone, when she was so sure she had found her happily ever after. The dark one had tried to be good for her lover but the world seemed against the idea of her finding happiness.
Rumy met him after she had became the dark one, she was in the midst of her terror, everyone feared her. She was both beautiful and dangerous, and something about her drew him in. He too was known for his beauty but no one ever tried to reach further. His name was Niklaus (I have no regrets) and while he was mostly known for his near perfect face he was actually a scholar.
The way they met was nothing special, they had mearly bumped into one another, his nose stuck in a book not watching were he was going. It wasn't Rumy's best day so she let him go, he couldn't get her out of his head. They had met again in a library, Niklaus there to get new books and Rumy there because someone had stolen one of her spell books and sold it to the library. The spell book was actually what Niklaus was going to read, having read all the other books there in his short life, in modern day he would have been considered a genius. He had been forced to teach himself to read, originally having been born in poverty with no home, left in the woods to die by his own mother.
"And what do you need with a spell book?" A voice asked from behind Niklaus, the boy turned to see Rumy there, her arms crossed and an eyebrow raised. Niklaus simply smiled at the intimidating woman.
"It's the only one here I haven't read," He told her and a startled look over took her face. She glanced around the library, it was one of the largest in the Enchanted Forest and as far as she knew she was the only person to ever read all their books.
"Impressive, but I hate to inform you that actually belongs to me. It was stolen," She told him stepping forward expecting to have to kill him to get it.
Niklaus looked down at the interesting book before shrugging and holding it out to her, "Okay." She once again looked surprised, not expecting him to hand it over. She wasn't well liked, or at all liked, and many would with hold it just to spite her. She grinned and snatched the book running her hand softly over the front cover. It was a favorite of hers, the book practically hummed as she ran her fingers over it. Two eyes that had looked drawn on suddenly popped open and the book make a sound close to a purr. Niklaus' eyes widen in surprise at what seemed to be a book that was alive.
"Well since you have returned my book no fuss and have read all the books here... I suppose I should reward you," Rumy said looking back to the boy. He knocked his head, not expecting this of her. "I have a personal library at my home, your welcome to come use it." Niklaus' eyes lit up with excitement and he with held himself from hugging her, knowing she wouldn't appreciate it.
"Thank you," He told her, practically jumping up and down, she sent him a fond smile.
"Don't get to excited, I'm just repaying you for returning my book."
Harry looked at Rumy who was starring down at one of her spell books. This one just so happened to be alive, which Harry was once startled to realize. It purred as her fingers softly grazed the front cover, the eyes lidded. He walked behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist kissing her shoulder, "What are you thinking of?" Rumy stared down at the book, her mind on a boy long gone.
"The past," She said placing the book down and turning to Harry wrapping her arms around his neck. "You remember the plan?" He nods with a grin.
"Uma goes to the try and beat Mal, she loses as your visions have shown and we appear last minutes to get the wand," He recites back to her and she smiles.
"Exactly, I don't need Uma in power to get what I want. I do need Mal though to get my last ingredient," She tells him and he nods smiling.
"What spell are you doing anyway?" He asked her, not actually knowing what the ingredients are for. She smiles and walks away over to a cauldron surrounded by the vial with unrequited love, Mal's spell book, a lock of gold hair, a vial with a clear liquid that had a faint blue glow, a jar that held what looked like a willow wisp and a book. Rumy picked up the book and opened it's familiar pages, there was writing inside and words were underlines. Rumy flicked to the tenth chapter and the third page in the chapter looking at the underlined words that when connected was a sentence. 'Our love was enternal, but not outside the reach of death. I forgive you.' Rumy's eyes closed in what looked like pain as she slowly closed the book setting it down.
"A spell to return things to where they belong," She says, not telling him how everything was about to change. "Come on, it's time for us to make a deal." Harry grins walking over to her, he wraps an arm around her before purple smoke surrounds them, and when it disappears so have they.
A younger Rumy sat on a horse, in men's clothing she looked remarkingly similar to her twin brother who laid in his bed asleep. She closes her eyes, fighting back tears as she turns her horse to face the woods and kicks it's side, forcing it into a run. She was dressed in loose clothing, her hair cut to a replica of her brothers and a sword by her side. She was only 13 and off to war. Better she die than he.
K. So this chapter got that BACKSTORY! So I will be getting more into her backstory and well things about to get real.
