Chapter 1

~Chapter 1~

"Here you go Mr. Turner, steaming hot black coffee with a buttered croissant, just the way you like it."

"Thank you Zhara"

I smiled at the old man before continuing my work.

I had been working at the Cozy Cuppa since I was in high school. Three years to be exact.

Most people that come here are elders or young people on dates or somthing like that.

I wiped the counter tops and grabbed the garbage that other people left behind.

My shift was going to be over in 7 minutes so I tried to quickly finish up what I was doing.

As I walked to the back of the kitchen, I heard someone call my name.

"Zhara!" I turned around and saw Alex and Nick, my two best friends, entering the coffee shop

"Hey guys", I greeted with a wide smile.

Alex's real name is Alexandria but unless you have a death wish call her Alex.

She is a really fun girl, a bit of a tomboy but not too much. She like playing sports and like most girls, shopping.

She has black hair that is cut into thin layers, mid-shoulder lenght, and her eyes are a deep blue color,

she is a little taller than me (5.6), and has pale skin but she still looks beautiful, also she is 19.

"Are you gonna be coming to the party this Saturday?",she asked, starring at me with hopeful eyes.

This party was for a friends' younger sister. She was graduating this year so since her older brother, Jason was close friends with us, he's inviting us.

I usually don't go to parties, not that I don't want to, its just my dad doesn't like the idea of me at a party where there will be alot of boys.

Yes he is very protective, he wouldn't want his 'little girl' to get hurt.

"I don't know.....I'll have to ask my dad.",I replied.

"Oh come on, you can't miss Jasons party is gonna be Awwesoomee!", Nick commented. "If you want, I can talk your dad into letting you come?...", he offered.

"Actually its Ashleys' party and No it's okay, I'll talk to him." I assured.

"Okaayy..well Nick and I are going to my house to play FIFA, he says I can't beat him and so we made a little wager, you want to join?" Alex asked.

I thought for a moment...

"Sure. I'll just text my dad later.", I answered happily.

Both of them grinned from ear to ear.

"Great, now lets GOOO!",Nick shouted.

Nick is a really cool guy. He is the brother I only wished I had.

He has brown hair that he usually sweeps to the side or puts it up in a quiff, greyish green eyes, a cute smile. He is taller than both Alex and I. (5.9") The best part is that my dad likes him, he thinks of Nick as a son and I think of him as a brother.

Nick is the only boy my dad lets me hang out with.

He even thought that Nick and I should start dating when I first introduced Nick, but Nick already had, and still has, a girlfriend. Her name is Candi.

Although her name is Candi, she isn't that sweet.

"Well...go get your things" Alex urged.

I went to the back and got my bag and jacket, clocked out and mrt my friends at the front door.

Well this should fun.
