Chapter 2

~Chapter 2~

As Alex and Nick played on the Xbox, I walked aimlessly around their flat.

During Seinor year Alex and Nick moved into a flat together. It wasn't too big but good enough for 2 people to live there. Candi wasnt dating Nick at that time so it wasnt a problem for him to move into a flat with Alex.

Even now, Candi wouldnt say anything. Because she is scared of Alex.

They wanted me to move in with them but my dad said there really is no need for me to move out since we have such a big house.

But I have been saving money to get my own place so once I find a nice flat I tell my dad and see what he says.

As I passed the kitchen I heard my stomach growl.

'Might as well make something for all of us' I thought to myself.

I rummaged through the fridge and cabinets for a while before settling on making grilled cheese.

While I waited for the bread to toast I made some coffee. I put the coffee beans in the machine and pour in the water.

Right when the toaster popped the bread out, I heard something buzz I turned and saw Nick's phone on the counter.

One of the few things you should know about us three is that we don't mind either of us going through eachothers stuff,

so I walked over and picked it up.

"Ugh" I groaned as soon as I saw who texted him.

Candi.

I guess I should explain why her and I don't get along.....well to tell the truth I don't even know why she hates me. I tried being polite when Nick introduced us but she wouldn't even look at me.

I guess she doesn't like me hanging out with Nick because every time she sees us talking or just together she gets really mad and makes a huge scene.

One time Nick and I went to the mall to buy Alex a birthday gift and Candi was also there with her 'group'.

Once she saw us, she stomped over to where we were and started yelling at ME.

I don't really remember what she said because I was too busy watching her face turn to darker shades of red.

All I caught was, 'I don't know why Nicky even talks to you, let alone be friends with you. You're just a selfish, ugly bitch.'

After she called me a bi-... well.. the 'B' word Nick lost it.

He told her that if she kept bothering me, he would break up with her.

So...since then she has been avoiding me.

I walked back into the game room with the tray of food.

"Candi texted you Nick." I said while putting the tray on the side table.

"What did she say?" He asked without taking his eyes off the flat screen infront of him.

"I didn't bother to check, she's probably wondering where you are." I responded.

"Can you read it to me?"

"Sure"

I unlocked the phone and opened the message

"Where are you NICKKYYY !!!" I said in the most whiny voice possible.

"Hahaha you're getting better at it, ya know?" Alex laughed while pausing the game

"NOW GIMME SOME GRILLED CHEESE!!"

After I handed the two their plates and cups of coffee,

I sat down with my own and watched as Nick tapped down on the screen of his phone.

"So, who's winning?" I asked while taking a bite of my sandwich.

"I am!" Nick exclaimed loudly.

"But not for long" Alex cut him off.

"Yeah yeah" he bit back.

I watched as the two bickered back and forth about the game.

They would always act as if they hate one another but in reality they can't even have a real argument without laughing.....at something stupid, if I may add.

If some stranger were to see them fighting they would automatically thing that Nick and Alex are enemies.

I know I did.

I found the Two wrestling on the field in 6th grade.

~flashback ~

I made my way out of the classroom and walked toward the field, it was break time and I wanted to get familiar with my new school.

As I walked towards the grass I saw two kids around my age fighting.

Being the good girl I am, I ran over trying to break the fight up.

"HEY! YOU GUYS! STOP!" I yelled as I ran.

Other students were looking at me weird......and other were pointing at me and snickering, but I just brushed it off thinking it was nothing.

"HEY YOU SHOULDN'T BE- JESUS CHRIST YOU'RE FIGHTING WITH A GIRL?!" Once I approached them I saw it was a guy from my class Nicolas or something and a GIRL that I pretty sure I haven't met.

They stopped fighting and looked at me as if I had 4 heads.

"What?" I asked, uncertain.

"Hey you're that new chick! umm what's your name Zhana or something?" Nicolas asked.

"Zhara" I corrected him.

"Oh shes new? that makes sense " that girl that was fighting with Nicolas said.

"What makes sense?" I ask.

"You're new here" she stated

"So?"

"You don't know who we are" Nicolas cut in.

"Well obviously..." they didn't say anything so I decided to introduce myself. "Okay well I'm Zahra Gilbert, and I just moved here a few days ago. And you are?"

Instead of answering they burst into fits of laughter.

"What's funny?" I asked

"Oh n-nothing *ahem I'm Nicolas Drevin but you can call me Nick, and this here is Alexandria Hale but call her Alex if you value your life." Nick introduced.

"It nice to meet you...I think" I added.

"Umm why you were you guys fighting?" I asked after a couple seconds.

"Eh we were just fooling around." Alex shrugged.

"Oh...you guys are weird..." I spoke my mind.

Alex looked at Nicolas and smiled "I think we found our third musketeer" She said to him........
