"Kuroo?"

The said bed hair whipped his head around, tightening his grips on the scissors on his hands. He let out a breath of relief when he realized it was just Kenma behind him. Placing a hand on his chest, Kuroo relaxed his tensed shoulders. "Honestly, Kenma. You scared me to death," The bed hair exclaimed, trying to soothe his racing heart.

"What are you doing?" Kenma asked, raising a brow at the older male. Kuroo pursed his lips, replying the question with silence. The pudding head peeked over his shoulder, trying to figure out what he was doing in the dark. He raised a brow when he saw a small lock of silver hair in a small plastic bag.

"Kuroo," Kenma repeated with seriousness as Kuroo grabbed some of his fringe, snipping some of his own hair off. "What are you doing?" Kenma reached out to the envelop under the silver hair samples. "A ... DNA test?"

Kuroo continued his silence, grimly storing his hair samples securely into the provided plastic bag. "Kuroo, are you doing a DNA test with Lev?" Kenma asked, watching as the male kept both the hair samples in the envelop, sealing it.

"I need to make sure if it's really true." Kuroo finally said, putting away the envelope. "I need to make sure if he's really my kid." Kenma pulled his lips into a thin line, wearing a slightly contorted expression.

"What are you going to do if he's your kid?" He asked quietly.

"I don't know." Kuroo scratched the back of his neck. "Take responsibility, I guess? That's what I should do right?"

"And what if he isn't?"

Somehow, Kuroo couldn't seem to find a answer to that.

Lev stood at the side of the road, looking at the traffic light across the road. Waiting for the light turn green, he stood closely to his parent. His green eyes followed the cars that drove before them, shifting from side to side. Occasionally, he would flinch when the cars were at the lanes closer to them, stepping closer to the bed hair.

Kuroo, oblivious to Lev's insecurity, whistled a light tune, keeping his gaze straight ahead. Noticing a beautiful lady across the road, waiting to cross the road just like him, he grinned. He flashed his palm at her as their eyes made contact. Their lips both curling into charmed smiles, clearly finding each other interesting.

A beep sounded, indicating that the lights had turned green. Kuroo began crossing, paying almost no attention to Lev as his attention was stolen by the enchanting lady who was walking towards him. Lev quickly trotted by his side, trying to keep up with the parent's pace. His eyes darted all around his surroundings anxiously, mentally reminding himself to hurry up and not trip. He let out a little frustrated whine, trying to reach out to Kuroo's hand but the swinging palm of his father made it almost impossible.

The lady pushed her hair behind her ears and Kuroo winked a little at her when he felt a tug at the side of his pants. He turned to his side to find Lev who managed to balance himself after nearly tripping. Quickly, the child took the chance to hold Kuroo's hand, squeezing it tightly. "Papa!"

Kuroo grumbled under his breath, too embarrassed to make eye contact with the lady was still walking towards them. "Cute kid," She giggled as they passed by each other.

Kuroo felt his cheeks burn, squinting his eyes at Lev as if to put blame on him. He glared at the cockblock who seemed more relaxed now that he was holding onto the parent's hand. "You devil..."

"Oh~! It's tomorrow night, isn't it?" Bokuto exclaimed excitedly as he bounced on the stool. Lev tilted his head at Bokuto, wondering what had gotten the male so excited. Bokuto pressed his palms onto the counter, about to shoot out from his stool. "The matsuri (festival)!"
