Falling for Mr. Popular

Chapter 3

Maddy's POV

"Who is it?" Luke asked. What do I need to say, I mean I can't just say. oh it was Chris you know your ex best friend and the guy I have a crush on, wait did I say have.. oh shit. But no no, I can't say that. I have to bring this later tonight, oh almost forgot I had to ask him to stay here.

"Oh no one important" I said and looked at Luke, I'm so bad at lying. He wanted to say something but I was first. "Do you wanna stay tonight..? Like sleep here, my mom won't be back till 3 and I don't wanna be alone" He looked a bit confused. I can't blame him, I just asked him if he could stay here tonight. It actually never happend, only with Beth and Luke together but never alone.

"yeah sure" was his only reply. He still smiled and began to eat his ice cream. Well played Madeline, well played. 

- LATER THAT NIGHT -

'"why are you so good in this what the hell" Luke said with a sigh as he dropped himself on the couch.

"Luke , this game is my life," I said as I put just dance to stop . "It's not so difficult" I said laughing as I took a sip of my coke .

Normally I never drink Coke , it's not really my thing but cherry coke is really good.

"yeah for you it is. you have done this your whole life or something" luke was so good at exaggerating . "it could be easy for you to, but you can't dance so it's difficult for you. " Luke looked at me offended . " You've got to be kidding me, I can dance fantastic " He stood up and handed his hand out to me . " Take my hand little bitch. we're gonna dance" I smiled and took his hand.

Laughing Luke put the song Paper hearts on from Tori Kelly, I told him about this song , it's so beautiful . " Luke everybody can slow dance" he pulled me closer.

yeah sure ignore me, bitch.

I put my hands on his neck and felt his hands go to my hips . It somehow felt a little uncomfortable , but also somewhere safe . Slowly we moved along to the music . Luke was really good at slow dancing, didn't expected that. . He turned me another round and looked at me straight in the eye .

Luke suddenly let go of me and turned the music off. "I told you I could dance" his voice sounded nervous. "Yeah yeah I didn't expect from you mister two left feet" I smiled and walked to the kitchen. "would you like a drink?" I already did the refrigerator open "Surprise me," he said, and I began to look for something.

Luke's POV

"Take my hand little bitch , we're gonna dance " she grabbed my hand and I quickly put the song Paper Hearts on by Tori Kelly . Past few weeks I had to listen to the song lyrics like 24/7, Maddy is totally in love with it.

Slowly she put her hands on my neck . I left my hands slide to her hips. I've done this before, several years before I danced with a girl and she has taught me all this, according to her, I was so bad that she had to learn to dance, or well slow dance.. She was nice , but I never saw her again.

I turned her around and when I looked into her eyes. I couldn't do this anymore. I had fallen so hard for Maddy, the little bitch.. Madeline. I don't care how you want to call her but I had fallen for her. Just look at her, beautiful eyes, her brown hair . Everything looked just perfect. With that sweet smile she looked back , right into my eyes . I wanted to kiss her , but I knew I would ruin everything.

I quickly released her and turned the music off. Maddy looked weird at me. "I told you I could dance" I said as I sat down " Yeah yeah I didn't expect that from mister two left feet , " she smiled again and walked into the kitchen . "would you like a drink? "

"surprise me " I said , rubbing over my face. Why do I have to fall for my bestfriend.

Maddy's POV 

While I got 2 Coke I reached over to my phone to see Chris his message. I had forgotten that Chris had sent a message like 3/4 hours ago so I texted him back.

Chris <3 : Hi! Sorry I totally forgot to text you back x

Before I could actually think what I just typed I already send it, and again my phone went off. This time it was my mum asking if everything was alright. I send a 'yes xx' back and walked to the living room were Luke was on his phone. 

"Act a little bit social bitch, I know your phone is your life bu..." I was cut of by Luke laughing. "You're kidding me right?" He put his phone away and took the coke, "you're the one who's 24/7 on her phone texting Beth even though you see her all day, now that you mention it, who texted you a few hours ago" he looked at me while he took a zip from his coke. 

I was about to tell him but I just couldn't find the right words to explain it all. So I just looked at him, "you're gonna tell me or what?" he chuckled "Chris" I said softly "who..?" he asked on a serious tone again. 

I sat down next to him and looked at him. I sighed, "Chris, you know Christopher Ad" "Adams, yeah yeah I know who it is Madeline" I looked at him, did he just really called me Madeline. 

It went silent for about 2 minutes, he took another zip and looked at me.

"how?"

"how what?"

"how did he got your number?" he said, taking a zip from his coke, again.

"I met him at the supermarket" I said looking at him right in the eyes

"what did he said?" 

"I would love to talk to you soon, so here is my number," I said 

I still remember how it went, you'll find me weird, but for me it was kind of a big deal, the boy I had such a huge crush all those years finally saw me. I just don't know if I still have some feelings for him, I mean something in me says yes but something in me says no to. After all those years some feelings just fade away, but maybe they can come back? I don't know, and for now I don't wanna know either, 

"and you gave him yours to?" Luke snapped me out of my thoughts

"yes.. Why all those questions?"

he ignored my question and just stared at me.

"he isn't good for you maddy" Luke drank the last of his coke and put the glass down, he muttered something to himself and then looked back at me

"he is not good for you okay, he's popular maddy, you don't fit in his world" I got a little bit mad. "Luke, It's not like we are dating or something, I just gave him my number. You should be happy for me. It's not that i'm already losing my virginity to him" 

"I know Maddy, but I know you. it meant a lot to you, I just dpn't want you to be disappointed if you do get a relationship with him. He's different than you think" I smiled a bit, it's cute how protective he is for me. Luke knows me way to good, I know it meant nothing to Chris, he get's a lot of numbers from girls, probally. But for me it did meant a lot and Luke knew that. 

"Let's just see what's going to happen okay, just remember that he's not good for you" I just nodded. It's not like he's a god damn criminal. I took a zip of my coke and looked at Luke. 

"wanna go to sleep? it's not that late but you know i'm just a little bit tired" I smiled at Luke and then looked at my coke. "what ever you want little bitch" I looked as bitchy as I can at him and then stood up. "you coming?" I asked and turned to Luke, he nodded and then brought the drinks away. 

I went upstairs and just sat on my bed. It's not a big deal Maddy, you're just another girl in his popular world. I let myself fall on my bed and then fell asleep as soon as I closed my eyes, I didn't knew I was that tired.
