Hand in hand

No one sits with him, he doesnt fit in
But they feel like they do when they make fun of him.
They dont know thier leaders by the way they behave,
And others will follow the choices theyve made.
As I cross the schools street,
I see him and our eyes meet.
He does his best to smile at me,
While hes hiding whats underneath.
You turned away when I looked you in the eye,
And hesitated when I asked if you were allright.
He tells me he feels so alone,
That hes in too much pain to survive on his own.
As he walked away it left a thought in my head,
This is what I shouldve said:
Id tell you just what you mean to me,
Id tell you these simple truths.
Be strong and never give up hope,
You came to do great things I allready know.
And soon love you will find on your way,
These are the words id say.
I walk into class and see its starting again,
Theyre saying stuff just to hurt him.
Seeing him cry for hours, and the hours turn to days,
I stood up and said what I had to say.
Some things in life you cant change,
And some things you cant see until its too late.
They took thier seats knowing thier mistake,
He walked out with me and a smile he couldnt fake.
"youre a great guy and dont let anyone change you."
He turned and said "the same for you too."
We walked through the halls with our heads held high,
We were no longer scared and no longer shy.
For the first time we proudly stand,
Side by side and hand in hand.
