Mitch's house makes me feel so small. And that's saying something considering I'm six three. It was gorgeous too. So many windows. But I noticed they all had the curtains drawn. Like someone died. I put my SnapBack on backwards. This house made me nervous. I felt like I could get lost in the multiple rooms that were in this house. I walked up to the front door but it was opened before I could knock. There was a lady with a wonderful smiling face. She pointed at where I was just standing to gawk at the house.
"I saw you standing there. Mr. Grassi is waiting for you in his room." There was suddenly a loud crash that sounded as if someone broke glass. "Oh no." I ran towards where the sound came from. I actually had to run up a flight of stairs. Mitch was standing above a girl with his hands on his hips.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Grassi." He knelt down next to her.
"Did you get any in your hand?" She shook her head. "I can clean it-"
"No. I'll get it. Please get busy on you're homework." Mitch reluctantly stood up.
"O-okay. Be careful." His eyes widened when he turned to see me at the top of the stairs. His usual school attitude took over his whole body. He began walking down the hall and I took that as a hint to follow him. He had been so nice to that maid so why around me does he have to be such a dick? I jogged to catch up to him. He opened the door to a room and I followed. He sat at the desk while I just stood there awkwardly.
"How many rooms does this house have?" I took a seat on the edge of his bed. I'm guessing this was his room. I imagined more flashing things in his room. He had dark blue sheets on his bed and there was nothing on the walls. No posters, no pictures. In fact, there were no pictures anywhere. Not even on his dresser or desk. Then the only other thing in his room was a bookshelf full of books and a cd rack.
"I don't know." His voice startled me out of my thoughts. "Like twenty."
"Wow." I whispered. He turned around in the chair so he was facing me. He looked miserable and exhausted. It might just be because at school he likes to keep up with this 'I don't care and I'm the most popular boy' attitude. At home, he was..... Mitch. I glanced around the room. "Where are your parents?" He made a weird noise.
"Like I know. Jamaica, Madrid, France." He crossed his arms over his chest in frustration. I couldn't believe what I was feeling. I felt sorry for my worst enemy. "Anyways, what song do you want to do?"
"Well...a popular one of course."
"Duh." He looked at me like I was stupid. I bit my tongue from saying anything rude. One of those twenty rooms could be a torture chamber. Mitch was pulling on his bottom lip. "How about 'I Need Your Love'?"
"A love song?" He walked in front of me to knock my hat off my head. "Hey!"
"What? Were you raised in a barn? You don't wear a hat inside someone's home." He plopped on the bed next to me and fell back to look at the ceiling. His hand grabbed onto my arm. I turned my head to look at him. "Think about it though. Don't you think a love song will convince her faster that we've got along? Especially if we add in subtle....touching." He shuddered.
"Yeah but maybe she already thought about that." He tugged me to lay next to him. I felt a tingling sensation come from where our shoulders were touching. "She's not stupid. Actually, Ms. Wade is really clever. She could get a mouse to walk straight into a trap." I could sense him roll his eyes.
"Really? That was the lamest analogy I've ever heard and I hang out with Avi's ridiculous ass." We both chuckled. That was a real laugh. I turned my head to look at him. Even now he was gorgeous. The light made his eyes have a bright ring around his pupil, highlighting the rest of the brown.
