There were small taps on my window. I yawned, stretching my arms above my head. I glanced at the clock on my bedside table. It was four in the fucking morning. Who the hell was at my window? I stumbled over to where the steady tapping was against my window, cursing when I stubbed my toe. I slid the window open which allowed the cold breeze to rush through my room.
"Merry Christmas Scott." I smiled at Mitch's voice ringing through the darkness. The window slid shut and I felt Mitch press his body against mine.
"I'm so glad you didn't go with your parents."
"And miss spending two weeks with you on Christmas break? No thank you." He ran his fingers through my hair.
"What are you doing here?" He shoved me back in the direction of my bed causing me to fall on the mattress with a bounce. I felt him climb on top of me. He was laughing.
"It's Christmas Scott. Don't you want to do anything.....fun." The suggestion was thick in his voice. A month of making out on our beds and I didn't want to take it further. I stopped his hands.
"Mitch."
"Scott." He said in a mocking tone. He broke his hands away from mine. "I've asked you two times already. Zack's threats have been getting worse and I want you to be my first." I sighed.
"I imagined it being special." He rolled off of me but kept his head against my chest.
"So do I." I shifted so we were both under the covers, facing each other. He rubbed our noses together with a small giggle. His hands traveled up my bare chest. "I like that you don't wear a shirt to bed." I chuckled lightly.
"I wish I could see your face. Those beautiful eyes and that wonderful smile." My lips were inches away from his so I could feel his smile.
"You're not making it any easier to not touch you." I slipped out of the bed to lock the door before returning to his side. I was hoisted above him with one leg in between his.
"So touch me."
"Nuh-uh. You touch me." Instead of going towards his lips, I kissed along his jawline. His arms hooked under mine to bring me closer. His hands were pushing against my shoulder blades as he gasped quietly. "No. Stop." I fell back on my bed by Mitch sitting up and shoving me aside.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing." He whispered. I rested my chin on his shoulder. I kissed his cheek lightly. "Stop. This isn't helping."
"Helping what?" I could imagine him rolling his eyes. I slammed my back against the mattress and straddled my waist. I sucked in a sharp breath.
"Don't. Play. Dumb." His hands were holding down my shoulders. I slipped my hands under his shirt to hold onto his hips. "Can we go to sleep?" I kissed him before he curled up to my chest.
"I can't wait to wake up to your beautiful face."
"Then I'm going to have to make sure I do." I ran my fingers through his hair.
"You always do." He nuzzled in the crook of my neck. We fell asleep together.
**********
Mitch and I jumped apart at someone knocking at my door.
"Scott?" My mom's voice came from the other side. "Sweetheart. Wake up. We have company." Oh shit. It was Christmas. And my mom couldn't did Mitch in my bedroom. She'd think that we did something even though we didn't.
"Hide in my closet." Mitch hid in my overflowing closet. He put his hand on the back of my neck and brought me into a kiss. I pulled away with a smile. "I love you."
"You better." I closed the door and went to where my mom was knocking. I turned the doorknob and opened the door. I was surprised by the smiling face that I was met with.
"T-Todrick?" My mom was looking between us with excitement.
"Don't you like your surprise?" I glanced at my closet then back at Todrick.
"I thought you moved." His eyes danced with happiness. I remember how much I use to love his eyes. The were a lighter brown from his deep dark skin tone. They also had green mixed in as tiny flakes.
"We came back to visit my grandparents. I thought I would say hi." He waited for my mom to walk down the stairs. His eyes drifted over my bare chest. "Still looking good." I cleared my throat awkwardly.
"Uh, thanks. Listen, I need to get dressed."
"I've seen you naked before Scott." He winked. The blush was spreading across my cheeks.
"I'll be down in a minute but please-" He held up his hand.
"I'll wait downstairs." I shut the door and Mitch fell out of the closet. I helped him to his feet.
"You have so much shit in there."
"Sorry darling." His arms wrapped around my neck.
"I like these pet names."
"And I like you." He laughed.
"You're weird. But my kind of weird." He pecked my lips. He backed up towards my window. "I'll talk to you later, okay?" I pulled his lips back to mine.
"I love you."
"Yeah." He bit his lip. "I love you too. Text me." I watch him disappear around the corner after jumping out my window. I changed my clothes and pulled on my SnapBack. I ran down the stairs with a stupid grin on my face.
"I hope that smile is for me." Todrick's voice made me stumble down the last three steps. His lips were pursed as he leaned against one of the walls in the hallway.
"You scared me." My hand was resting above my heart. Todrick shyly walked towards me.
"How about after breakfast we go hang out at the park?" My head went into a cautious mode. I don't think that was such a good idea. But Todrick was my friend. I couldn't just blow him off. I mean he flew all the from California and he came to see me.
"Um, sure."
