Anna sat next to her parents and watched her sister dance, she was fourteen and so much better than Anna in every way. Elsa danced ballet while Anna stopped when she turned eight and took up hip-hop. Elsa was tall and slender while Anna was short for her age and had chubby cheeks. She watched as Elsa ended her routine with a perfect curtsey her parents started to clap and he mother whispered in her ear.

"If you had continued ballet, you could have been as good as your sister" Anna wiped a tear away, they were always dropping comments at her that she should have kept doing ballet and how much they hated hip-hop. Anna hated it how they would cancel meetings or take time off work to see Elsa dance and how they had never showed up to one of her dances, not once. It wasn't fair that Elsa got everything and Anna was stuck with the left overs. Mer, one of Anna's best friends took her hand and led her out of the room.

"Whats wrong?" She asked. Her Scottish accent tinting her words. Anna sighed.

"I with I had never quit ballet" Anna says. Merida gives her  puzzled look.

"You hated Ballet! you always tried to get out of going but as soon as you started hiphop yo refused to miss a single class, you even turned up when you were really sick and vomited halfway through!" Merida exclaims. The girl laughs, she ha been determined to go to every single class to get as good as the other kids, she trained harder than the other kids in hope that her parents would see that she wasn't useless.

"It doesn't matter that your parents hate hip-hop, one day they will see you dance and then they'll understand Anna, that you are not your sister but your own person" Mer says and gives her friend a hard Scottish styled hug.

That night Mer did extra training for Acro, she spun from the silks and flipped until she threw up her dinner but kept going. Her routine had to be perfect and her mother was threatening to make her take ballet instead if she couldn't get her act together in time. The truth was, Merida was the best at acrobatics and contortion. She was a perfectionist and mad sure every single trick she did was perfect. a boy with brown hair entered the room, glancing up he caught sight of his best friend, suspended from the ceiling by silks. He could see how tired she was and knew that she would have to walk the five blocks home by her self, it was already nine o clock.

"Mer, what are you doing, your routine is perfect" He says.

"I cant mess up, I just cant Jack" Merida says, swinging down to the floor.

"My mums outside, she can take you home, you cant walk all the way home" He says, taking his friends hand. Gone was the prankster and sarcastic remarks,  a caring and concerned friend had taken their place.

"Ok" The scot says, defeated and lets Jack lead her out of the building and into the car.
