the tunnel

Ashfoot picked me up and started glaring at two shadows that stood in the entrance to our tunnel.

one of them stepped forward. "I am  fireheart of ThunderClan. and this  is my friend Graystripe". Ashfoot snorted when Tallstar declined any help the ThunderClan warriors could give.

after a long quiet talk between the ThunderClan warriors and Tallstar, Tallstar finally agreed to travel back home with them.

Ashfoot stared in dismay at her clan leader. Tallstar raised his voice so every   WindClan cat could hear him. "we will be leaving to go back home now. Morningflower and Ashfoot, take your kits and get out first.

Ashfoot scooped me up and Petalkit and Quailkit followed behind. our father, Onewhisker , followed us out. Onewhisker barley cared for us at all.

my mother followed Morningflower our if the leaky tunnel and into the sunshine. it was my first time seeing extreme light and I screwed my face up trying to look at the brilliant ball of light that shone on the clear blue sky.

after many days of traveling my pelt felt hot and sticky most of the time. I barely ever had time to test because the ThunderClan warriors never let us rest.

"Ashfoot, Petalkit and I are tired." Quailkit wailed. Ashfoot set me down on a soft patch of grass. "if your brother can make it, so can you" Ashfoot said to my littermates.

but you carry him all the time! Quailkit whined. Ashfoot didn't reply. as we walked on Quailkit started to look funny and was coughing all the time.

Ashfoot placed me on the soft grass and called out " can we rest for a bit".

Tallstar agreed and every cat settled down. Quailkit was lying limp on a rock. not moving at all....
