Xander slowly learned that not everyone was going to accept his... lifestyle. Many people over the years cast him out or hurled cruel words at him. One thing Xander feared his whole life was dancing. Xander hated dances, he hated the way the boys would ask the girls with sly smirks on their faces, the way first timers, innocent grade 7's would place their hands awkwardly on the boys shoulders or if they were more daring rub up close and wrap their hands around their dance partner's neck before teachers rushed to pull them apart. Then once you reach the age of getting drunk while out clubbing with friends, it got even worse for him. You would enter the club and loud rhythmic, nonsense music would run over every sense putting every nerve on end. Xander always got headaches just from the music, then his friends would pull him over to the bar where they would order vodkas, beers, and other fancy drinks Xander never paid attention to. He usually ordered one beer to get the small buzz and then would only take water or coke afterward so that by the time the group was ready to leave he would have gotten a slight buzz and then would be back to 0% alcohol ready to transform into the mature designated driver. While everyone else was out on the dance floor, Xander would regard every body in the room coming up with different stories.

Xander and his friends had printed fake IDs and snuck into Tiger's the famous club in their area. Xander had immediately been ditched after he agreed to be the designated driver. His friends (Lucy, Brody, Elijah, and some other teens; Chris, Martin, Jacob, Sheila, Jennifer, and Andrew) had pulled their wallets out, fighting over who could take the most shots. It was the beginning of grade 12 and the one thing Brody wanted for his birthday was to sneak into a club. Specifically, this one to get drunk and dance. Xander sighed and leaned back against the wall with his coke, he sighed again and got comfortable ready to scan the crowd creating stories for the next four or five hours.

That girl is his girlfriend, it's her birthday from the way she's wearing a birthday girl pin and tonight they're going to do it everywhere, the couch, kitchen, bedroom, and finish in the shower.

The way that girl is rubbing all up against him, she's a hoe. She takes one home every night, proceeds to dance all up on them, get them drunk and then, together they'll stagger back to her silent apartment just a block down the street. In the morning she'll wake hoping to find him cooking breakfast for her but all she'll find is a note if she's lucky.

He is a wingman. He's standing alone surrounded by a group of girls, there's a boy standing beside him flirting all up on the girls. He laughs and drinks but he doesn't take any girls until the boy beside him leads one of the girls onto the dance floor. Then, he drops his drink on the nearest table, grabs the hottest girl he sees and then tugs her up the stairs to the back rooms.

He's an awkward dancer.

'Huh.' Xander thought to himself. He was very good at reading people, but this one boy was hard to look through. He was older. He was on the dance floor awkwardly dancing trying not to spill his drink.

'Got it.' Xander smiled to himself. He's a newbie, probably a teacher, lawyer, or doctor of some sort. Someone who finds it hard to let go but once he does he lets go of everything. Funnily enough, the man chugged back the rest of his drink, threw the cup behind him, pulled one of the giggling girls flush against him.

Xander looked up and noticed a man looking down on the crowd happy, he had a lazy smirk that graced his face and his arm muscles showed from his shoulders down. He was wearing skinny jeans and a loose tank top. Xander couldn't see the details but he was leaning against the wall and his shoulders were quite broad. The man all of a sudden glanced over at him, and even though the man couldn't see him he flushed. He looked up again but the man was gone.
