First day in a new school, it will make you or break you. So many school changes and I was nervous of this one in particular. I don't really know why, I just had a feeling some exciting things would happen. And I usually hated all mondays but that one.

I'm a perfectionist, I have to do things that I'm confident with, I think it is because of having dance competitions since I was like ten. It's my mother's fault, she always wanted me to be successful in everything I did, she forced me to take ballet classes. Although dancing is now part of me, I love it and I won't ever stop doing it.

So here I was, trying on part of my new American Apparel clothes, I had bought later, but never wore; curling my long burgundy red hair; putting on my new white Timberland's. I loved how they looked on me.

I checked the clock, It was 7:15 and I was ready to go.

"Mom!" I yelled from my room's door to my mother, she was carefully reading the newspaper downstairs, in the kitchen, "I'm leaving".

"Bye sweetie" she said to me with a smile on her face.

I took my car keys and hopped out the door and onto my car. Sleeping With Sirens was on the radio, I swear I had a little fangirl moment inside of me, turning the volume all the way up.

Finally arriving, I parked my car the closest to the door as I could so I would not get lost later.

Everything was happening like planned, everyone seemed to like the 'new girl'.

It was in math class when the teacher was checking attendance: when you have to raise your hand if your name is called.

I tried to pay all the attention I could to the names called, because I knew I was alone and I needed to make friends as soon as possible.

As the teacher pronounced ' Luke Hemmings' or so I heard, I saw this blond, blue-eyed, popular, smart, hot guy raising his hand and taking a glance at me, everything seemed so slow-mo and the world surrounding us seemed to fade for a couple of seconds. Suddenly a smile appeared in my face.

It was like a love at first sight, I have never felt this cheesy before.

When the subject ended, and the bell rang, I approached this 'Luke' .

"Hey! Ca... can you please show me where the closest bathroom is?" I knew this was a stupid question, but it was the first thought I had in mind.

"Sure, you go left through that hall over there, then when you see the gym, turn left again."

"Thank you so much" I said while making my way to the bathroom.

Not wanting to sound creepy I turned my head and half of my upper back and asked "Luke?...is that your name?"

"You can call me Lucas, if you prefer to" he responded biting his tongue, holding in the laughter, creating a weird shape in his mouth that made him look so adorable I couldn't help but giggle.

"Thanks 'Lucas', see you later!" I said to him at the same time I was following the directions he had told me before.

I did not wanted to pee or anything. I wanted to hear his voice, it was just like I imagined it would be, perfect.

Three days passed and every math class I'd chat with Lucas, we would talk about things like exams, and some funny stories that had happened in this school. Chats turned into talks and then into conversations.

We actually liked talking to each other, at least I did.

I was excited for my first PE class, I'm great at sports and I consider myself an athletic person, typical coming from a dancer.

"Amelia Morgan" the coach shouted.

"Yes?" I answered, confused, as I heard a kind of concern in his voice.

"Oh! I'm sorry, you must be new..." he apologized, "I'm coach Richardson. What we are doing now is a trust exercise in pairs, because we will be doing some teamwork this year" he shakes my hand and continues, "I pair you with... Calum Hood"

This trust exercise lies in spending a whole day with one another and getting to know them by asking 20 questions.

I turned around to see who this guy was and I saw this quiet, cool, uncaring, attractive guy.

I was okay with this partner, but I was really disinterested in his personal life.

Next morning came and ¨Calum¨ and I had to be together, I made my list of questions, and I was assuming he made his own. Then I made my way to the library, where he was, with his Dr.Dre beats on.

I sat next to him but he didn't even bothered to take the headphones on, that was irritating, therefore I grabbed the headpiece and took it off of his head, messing his shiny hair that was put in a quiff before I had messed up with it.

Calum rolled his eyes after meeting mine, "What?"

"PE? Trust exercise?...We are partners..." I said to him, overwhelmed by the fact that he had forgotten about it or didn't care at all.

"Yeah I know, but do you really want to do it?" He said, not really wishing to hear my answer.

"No, but it's an assignment, we have to!"

"Do it fast" He sighed while making his way out of the library.

Noticing this was not going to be simple, I walked behind him, I followed him. He was walking towards the beach holding a skateboard on his right hand, like if it would make him look any cooler. I searched the 'Notes' app on my phone to read the list of questions I had written earlier that day.

"What's your full name?" I asked him, scrolling down the notes.

"Calum" he snickered at the ground.

"I'm serious, we have to get this done by tomorrow" I insisted.

"Calum, Calum Hood" he nodded.

"Where are your parents from, Calum?"

He stopped for half a minute. And then proceeded. "You know what? I do not want to do this 'trust' exercise..." he confessed, "Not with you, Amelia!"

He placed the skateboard on the floor, stepped on it and left. Leaving me all by myself in the middle of the street.

I felt abashed, not knowing how to react to all this nonsense.

"What have I ever done to you?" I screamed, it was all so embarrassing to me, that tears streamed down my face.

All the way back to the library, I reenacted the scene in my head, trying to find the reason why he had behaved that way.

I entered the library and saw that Luke perfect Hemmings (as I like to call him) was sitting all alone in his phone. Just the thought of him made me smile.

"Hello Lucas" I greeted.

"Oh hey... sorry, your name is..?"

"Amelia... I asked you were the ba-"

"I'm kidding" he interrupted me "I wouldn't forget you Amelia; How are you?, you don't seem as smiley as you were the first time we talked"

"It's just — nothing, it doesn't matter anyway" I lied, I was really ashamed of whatever my partner thought I had done to him.

"How about we go for an ice cream and take a walk by the beach?"

Not recalling Calum was skating his way there, I obviously accepted the walk.
