"Why don't you take Ginny to the stables and introduce her to your horse?" his father said. "The grown ups are going to the bar in town to have a couple drinks. You can start a movie when you get back."
"OK. Let me just go change." he said to his father. "I'll be right back." he whispered. This was directed to me.
"I'll be right back too." I said picking up my dishes.
"Oh no, that won't be necessary. Juanita will take care of the dishes."
"Oh, it's no problem. I'm headed to the kitchen anyways."
"No no, I insist you let the maid do it. It is her job you know."
"I know, it's just..." he sstopped me short.
"Put down the plates!" he ordered, slamming his fist on the table. It startled me so much I jumped back, slamming into Blake as he came out, dropping the plates on the brick patio. They shattered. Mr. Walton stood up quickly.
Mrs. Walton and my mother came rushing outwith worried exppressions.
"She got frightened by a bee. Everyone's fine dear. Go back inside and we'll go." he said to his wife. "Juanita, clean up this mess at once!" he shouted. "Blake, take Ginny to the stables now." he shot me a look of disapproval.

We got to the stables. They were painted white and had four horses.
"You had to change to show me your horse?" I asked folding my arms across my chest.
"No, I didn't."
"Then why did you?"
He looked at me, head cocked to one side and said with a wide, almost devilish grin, "Now, how much fun would it be to just look at the horses?"
"I don't know how to ride." I told him, kind of knowing where this was going.
"Who said you were riding your own horse?" He saddled up a white, painted horse and jumped up onto him. "This is Logan." he said patting him on the neck. "Hop on!" he held out his hand.
My lack of enthusiasm for "hopping" on a horse must have shown because he came up to me, grabbed my hand and practically dragged all of my dead weight onto the horse.
"See, that wasn't that hard. Plus, Logan is and easy rider. He doesent' even go faster that, like, 15 miles an hour."
"That seems like a lot. Won't we get in some kind of trouble for this?"
"Sometimes you have to break the rules to have a little fun."
"This may fly with your parents because you have money to get away with anything, but my family's new around here and if I get into trouble, that's not a very good impression on the town." I said trying to flop off the horse.
But before I could move an inch, Blake kicked the horse and was flying down the revine with me on the back.
"What are you doing?!" I shouted. "This is going to drop my status faster than your horse will kill me!"
"Or, this might just gain you the respect you need." he said without a care. "You see, I am a respectable man from a respectable family. Peole look up to me to be a leader. You might get brownie points for just talking to me."
"Nooo... You're a pretty boy who can get away with anything because daddy has money."
"Whatever, Mary!"
"My name is Ginny. See, you are so self-centered that you can't even learn my name."
He let out a chuckle. He just laughed at me.
"What? What's so funny?"
"Nothing." he said still laughing.
