Laurel sighed slightly as she looked out the window, thinking about the only thing that had been on her mind since the dance: Bryson. Gosh, what had he done to her? She shook her head and tried to listen to what her mom was saying.

"Huh? Uh, yeah, sure." Her mom gave her a quizzical look.

"You WANT to watch the neighbors kids?" Laurels eyes popped wide open.

"What? No!" She felt her cheeks heat as her mother raised her eyebrows.

"You just said you did." Laurel groaned inwardly.

"I wasn't really paying attention, sorry." Laurels mother, Kim, frowned.

"What's up munchkin?"  Laurel shrugged.

"Just thinking, about" She paused, looking for a word.

"School." Laurel hated lying to her mom, and it wasn't a complete lie, she was worried about her grades, but she wasn't really thinking about them. Her mother seemed to accept that answer though she knew something else was going on. "We're here." Laurel got out of the car then helped unbuckle Enoch. Her heart was beating faster by the minute, she didn't know if Bryson was gonna be there. It was Cleveland counties 4-H County Council Meeting and she knew he didn't often come to those things, but then again, you never know. She straightened her clothes, which consisted of a flowy dark blue shirt with white polka dots, skinny jeans and black ballet flats. She looked darn cute in her opinion, but then again, she didn't know if she could trust her opinion, she was after all herself, therefore, a bit biased.

Her mother pushed the door open and Laurel held her breath. After a quick glance around the room she let the breath out, sighing gently. He wasn't there. Almost nobody was, except for Laurel's friend, Attie, and Anthony Vagnozzi, County president of Cleveland County. Laurel smiled half-heartedly and walked over to Attie.

"Hey Laurel." Attie said, smiling crookedly.

"Hey Attie." Laurel replied, putting her stuff down.

"No ones here." She said, chewing the inside of her lip.

"Well, I am!" Attie said, grinning again. Laurel smiled lightly.

"Yeah, you are." She chuckled and wandered back into the kitchen to listen to a conversation going on between her mother and Anthony's mom.

Laurel was becoming bored out of her mind, not to mention anxious. No one was getting here! Suddenly Hannah sheepishly walked in. Laurel looked at the time, it was 6 minutes past the time people were supposed to be there and Hannah was the only one to arrive? This meeting is going to be a bust She thought, frowning. Hannah walked over to a table and set down her stuff. She looked really cute, wearing a dark blue, long sleeved button up shirt with white polka dots tucked into her skinny jeans, a brown leather belt and white sandals.

"And you said you didn't have any fashion sense." Laurel greeted, smirking.

"Oh shut up." Hannah said good-naturedly.

"Is anyone else here?" She asked, the hopeful note in her voice making Laurel want to roll her eyes.

"No, Daniel, Is not here, sorry." Hannah rolled her eyes but didn't deny that's who she was waiting for, how could she? After all the night before they had had a very long discussion about what she should wear and if Daniel was gonna be there. It was both sickening and cute how much Hannah liked Daniel.

"Is Bryson here?" Hannah asked, cocking an eyebrow. Laurel rolled her eyes but couldn't hide her smile.

"No. And don't embarrass me!" Hannah looked shocked and raised a hand to her chest.
