Oli's POV

"Get out! Get out of my house! I don't want you here anymore!" I shouted at Hannah. I'd just found out that she'd been cheating on me and I couldn't stand to see her anymore.

She stormed out and slammed the door behind her. I felt horrible. I truly did love her and she goes and cheats on me.

I knew if I didn't do something I was gonna get depressed and that could ruin my job which I didn't want. I googled some ways to stop yourself becoming depressed and one that stood out to me was adoption.

I searched up some adoption centres near me and saw there was a place called Littlewood Orphanage down the road from where I lived. I went onto their website and had a look at some of the kids there.

I decided to ring up and book an appointment to see some of the kids. I dialed the number and rang it.

"Hello, this is Stacey from Littlewood Orphanage here. How can I help?" The person on the other end answered.

"Um I was wondering if I could book an appointment to see some of the kids at the orphanage at around 11:00 tomorrow." I said.

"Um yep. I can get you slotted in for then. Are there any specific children you would like to see." She asked.

"Uh yea. Um James Nightingale, Yosef Oldham and Kelsey Harris caught my eye on the website but I'd like to see a few others too." I told her.

"Ok. And are you looking for a child in a specific age range?"

"Um possibly around the ages of 3-6." I replied.

"Ok I can get that sorted out ready for when you arrive tomorrow. Thank you."

"Thanks. Bye." I hung up and sighed. Hopefully I was going to adopt tomorrow. I decided on someone younger because I would have more time to spend with then as they grow up but I might adopt a teenager in a few years.

The next day

I pulled into the car park and stepped out of the car. I walked through the entrance and was met by who I guessed was Stacey.

"Hello, I'm Stacey. You must be Oliver. Are you ready to meet some of the children." She asked me.

"Uh yeah. Let's go for it." I replied. She lead me into a room full of young children playing and straight away one girl caught my eye.

She looked to be around 3 years old and was sat in the corner by herself looking out the window. Stacey caught my gaze and said "I see you've spotted Foxxie. She was beaten as a baby and left to die. She's been here for 2 and a half years and hasn't spoken once."

This child's backstory broke my heart. "Could I look at her profile?" I asked.

"Yea sure. Just follow me." She replied and lead me into an office. She walked over to a cabinet that held loads of folders and pulled one out. She came back over and placed it infront of me.

I opened it and there was pictures of all the bruises and cuts over her body from where she had been beaten. A tiny tear slid from my eye and I turned to Stacey. "I'd like to adopt her."

"Are you sure?" She asked and I nodded. "Ok I'll go call her in she can meet you." She walked out and a minute later she came back in with Foxxie.

"Foxxie, this is Oliver and he's going to be adopting you today." Stacey told her. She turned to me and waved shyly and I waved back. "Do you want to go and pack your stuff?" She asked her and Foxxie nodded and ran upstairs.

Stacey then grabbed the adoption papers for me to sign. I signed all the sheets of paper and I finished just as Foxxie came back in with her suitcase.

"Are you ready to go?" I asked her while crouching down to her level. She nodded and hugged me. I picked her up and carried her suitcase.

"Bye Foxxie." Stacey said and Foxxie waved back. I walked out to the car with Foxxie and put her suitcase in the back of the car. I then walked round and put her into a carseat that I bought before I came. I climbed into the car and drove back home.
