Amber struggled to keep her eyes open as she tried to get up off the floor. She leaned over, grabbing onto the doorknob to help her up. The door opened in the process, which she instantly slammed shut again, worried Venarius might have noticed.
Somehow, she managed to lock the door behind her and stumble all the way to the guest room Loveday always kept free for her, but was rarely used. A stray thought, 'I should sleep here more often,' crossed her mind as she kicked her shoes off.
She had no memory of doing any of that when she woke.

Amber was asleep before her head touched the pillow.

She was still falling, no- plummeting down. She made backflips, front flips, even the odd sideflip until she was no longer sure if she was still actually going down. Maybe she had reached the center of the Gajack, bounced on the edge of the fabric of existence and was now going up. Without warning, she stopped.

She was standing on the floor. Somehow.

And she still couldn't see a single damned thing.

Suddenly, she was blinded by a flash of lightning. It struck the ground before her feet, and, caught off-guard, she fell backwards.

A girl stood before her.

"Help me," she said, her voice frail.
She lifted her head to meet the disorientated lass before her.

Misty grey eyes met green.
And violet.

The girl looked at her, silently begging Amber- or was it Raven?- with pleading, hollow eyes.

Who was studying her.

The ghostly girl wore a grubby white nightdress, with many tears and several patches. Her knees were scratched, and her nails were bloody and caked with dirt. A chain was attached to her frail wrists, coloured an angry red, and a ball and chain was secured to her ankles. Her cheeks sunken, her ribs visible through her clothes. Her features were sharp, and scarily prominent.

Black, greasy hair fell into her eyes. She brushed it behind her ear.

"Help me," she repeated, her voice getting stronger.

"Who are you?" Amber asked, slightly scared, yet knowing her fear was nowhere as great as that of the terrified creature in front of her. She was not afraid of her- but of the being that had subjected her to that treatment.

"Control yourselves, Amber. Don't let them find you, Raven," she said again, glancing around fearfully. Amber's vision blurred, and everything started shaking.

"Amber? Amber?"

"Who are you?! How do you know who I am?! What's going on?!?" she asked, panicking as the shaking increased intensity.

"Amber, wake up!

The girl vanished into nothingness, her last words lingering in the air.

"Find me..."
