star watching

The sky was dark, yet filled with stars, the air was cold but warm enough.
Y/N and Dan had decided to go star watching, not as a couple. They were just friends. Walking at a slow
pace, Y/N and Dan brushed hands every now and then, accidental of course, Dan turning a slight red out of embarrassment, Y/N replying with a kind smile. Arriving to the park, they stand at the bottom of the hill.
"I'll race you." Without any confirmation, Dan bolted leaving Y/N behind, Y/N followed directly after, quickly passing Dan. After reaching the top, the two were a panting mess.
"Listen, I'm very unhealthy." Dan said, walking around in circles catching his breath "So am I! But I won!" Y/N punched Dan in the arm playfully. That's something Dan enjoyed about Y/Ns presence, Y/N was aways playful and silly about everything, constant positive vibes. She almost never made Dan feel uncomfortable.
Y/N kneeled down, taking her backpack off and placing it down and took out a blanket. Laying it out on the grass she motioned for Dan to come and sit down. Dan quickly hurried to sit down, not wanting to ruin anything.

The two sat there, enjoying each others presence, talking about different subjects.
"Listen so, if I trapped 2 ants in a jar and gave 1 a piece of bread, would they share?"
"If you gave them a piece of bread I imagine they'd both go ahead and eat it, not caring who received it first." Y/N nodded in agreement. Dan yawned and tilted his head up, looking up at the stars.
"Hey Y/N" Y/N looked up at him, dreamily.
"Hey Dan." He looked down, into her eyes (heart eyes howell)
"I fancy you." Y/N raised an eyebrow, but felt her heart flutter. Her stomach turned, but in a good way.
"Like a schoolgirl crush?" Dan chuckled "I'm in love with you." Y/N scooted closer to Dan and looked away from the tall boy, looking up at the stars.
"Well I fancy you too." Y/N giggled at the awkwardness of it all.
Dan places his much larger hand onto Y/Ns small hand and begins to grin stupidly as Y/N leans in and rests her head on his shoulder, the two smiling up at the sky.
