Three days, five weeks, seven months and two years since Keith had vanished.
Lance remembered every part of that fateful day like it was yesterday. It was supposed to be an easy in and out mission, take over a base and leave, but it didn't turn out that way. There was smoke and fire. It was both hot and cold. There was a ringing in his ears and his vision was twisting. Lance had been blown to the ground by the force but nothing else too harmful since he had distance between him and the blast.

Panic consumed his mind and body as he looked too his left to see a broken, burned and bloody Red helmet. He yelled out for Keith but it was dead silent. Lance sat next to the helmet and sobbed. He had lost his best friend. His Keith. The one he promised to protect. "Keith, oh god I'm so sorry... I didn't protect you...I...I c-can't keep my promise...I want to go see a movie with you... swim in the ocean... watch you smile at the sky as it rains when we walk..." an hour after that Hunk was sent to retrieve them and were all horrified when it was just Lance clutching the front part of Keith's helmet.

Lance curled up into a ball in Keith's bed as he cuddled into the pillows, trying to get those memories out of his head. "I miss you mullet..." The castle alerted everyone that there was an ally planet that had some supplies and gifts for the paladins. Lance sighed as he ran to meet the others and change into their armor. They landed in Pidge's lion and were greeted with food and a party.

It had been a few hours when they gave the paladins their gifts. Everyone had gotten theirs except for Lance. "Don't worry blue paladin, we didn't forget you." The door behind him opened. Lance turned around and was met with familiar yet oddly colored eyes. Lance gasped and felt tears fall onto his face.
"It can't be..."

"Hey Lance, Miss me much?"
