Rubi took a glimpse of both of us and excused herself- "I will bring something for you to eat."

I folded both arms in front of my chest and turned my face away from ahaan.

"Dhani, I don't know about abaan that he loves you or not but I know that I love you."ahaan hunched towards me.

I looked at him. our eyes got locked. he smiled and said- "I know you love me too."

"Aaahh you did it again, "I said irritated.
"What? "He widened his eyes.
"Your dimples. every time I see those dimples, my anger flies away."I gritted my teeth.

He laughed hard and said-"you are funny."

"Are these all seem funny to you? here I couldn't trust anyone, people out here are craving for my soul and I don't know to whom I should trust or not and this is a joke to you?" I entered into serious mode again.

He held me with my arms and tried to help me in standing up but I wobbled.
"Careful." ahaan grabbed my waist and prevented me from falling.
"Hell, my body is aching terribly, don't know why? "I wrinkled my nose in pain.
"I know why?" He replied.
I looked at him questioningly.
"Mother attacked you when you were about to run from here, after that you passed out."He revealed.

I remembered Janet threw a strange light of big ball towards me with her full rage after that my sight got blurry and I passed out.

"That bitch."I muttered.

"What? " Ahaan took his left ear close to my mouth to hear clearly.

"Nothing. if you love me and you don't want my soul then why don't you let me leave."I raised my eyebrow.

"Because it's not easy dhani, Jannet never leaves her prey so easily.pure souls like you are hard to find she will never let you go dhani.she is very dangerous and no one can go against her but still I warned you if you have remembered? " He looked at me.

"When? I only remember one thing that is your fights, like you guys were really into me, huh. "I twitched my mouth.

"Dhani, let me explain to you from the beginning. at the cemetery, I was there to hunt some souls of recently dead people, when I heard your footsteps. your pure soul attracted me to see you but you ran from me. I saved you from wolves too. I didn't have any intentions to kill you or harm you. but when I saw you, you attracted me more than your soul." he expressed.

"Why did you claim me as your wife? " I asked.

"Because I wanted to save you from abaan.He is a good-looking guy and he knows very well how to play with the inner darkness of people like you." He sighed and continued- "I had seen so many innocent souls sacrificing their lives to abaan and Jannet. their screams, their pain was heart-wrenching but I couldn't do anything to help them."  he stated sadly.

"Really? But Rubi told me you were also one of them who feeds on her soul. so don't try to make fool of me. "I snapped.

"Yes, because I always become helpless when it's time to feed my hunger, souls attract me too, I can't control my inner demon. "he said embarrassingly.

"Then why did you join them? Why didn't you try to save other innocent girls." I questioned him again.

"Because I can't save anyone, once they come into the palace. I can save lives from Abaan but not from Jannet. she is way too powerful. and if I go against her she will kill me like she killed our father."He burst.

"She killed her husband?" I asked surprisingly.

"Yes she did because my father was like me, he didn't like to kill innocent lives just to increase our powers, he just fed some spirits for survival. but Janet wanted more power she started killing innocent people with pure souls. she knew that sadness makes people weak so she started targeting them,abaan too joined her and when father tried to control them, they killed him and took over his powers. " he banged his hand on the wall in frustration.

"So you are afraid that if you will go against them, they will kill you too. "I exclaimed.

He just turned his head in the other direction.

"Such a coward. "I sighed.

"I tried to save you that's why I always tried to fight with him and claimed you mine. I hoped that for me he will step back. because if I am claiming you for myself that means I am claiming your soul for me. I have been never hunted any live souls,  you were my first one. I thought Jannet and abaan will be happy that at last I joined them in hunting live souls and he steps back but no Jannet got suspicious and didn't trust me that's why abaan didn't leave you for me." He continued- "do you remember? I met you on street and gave you a mantra to keep yourself happy?"

I nodded.

"I risked my life for that, I gave you that mantra because I knew I couldn't help you anymore that's why I told you to keep yourself happy. " He said.

"What kind of mantra was that? how was keeping myself happy going to help me, save me from you guys? "I asked wondering.

"Like I told you they attracted to sadness and sad souls because they are weak and you guys who are full of sadness can only see us.so if you keep your soul happy that means less sadness which helps you to keep us away even if you are full of joy and happiness then you will never see us again because we only exist there, where sadness and darkness exists."

"But I was happy when I realized I was in love with abaan. "I interrupted.

"No, you were not. after first meeting with abaan you broke up with your boyfriend which caused you terrible pain and sadness, which made it easier for him to come into your life. after that you thought that you were happy but you were not, that's why abaan always played like a mystery to you." He explained.

I bit my lips in thinking. now everything was clear in front of me. what a nice game they played with me.

Ahaan grabbed me- "dhani in this all I never thought to harm you but without knowing I fell for you. I love you and I wanna help you."

I looked at his eyes, which were looking truthful. I could feel he was not lying to me anymore. our eyes got stuck on each other's faces. I never accepted but I always had something for him in my heart.

A drop of tear rolled down from my eye to the cheeks, when suddenly ahaan kissed on it and unconsciously I closed my eyes at the touch of his lips on mine which was enough to ease all my pains.
