Addie's POV:

I walk into my little brother's room, well he's more like a son to me, since his mother had died from giving birth to him, she and I weren't really close, because she would always speak so highly of her older brother Theodore, or Teddy, if you want to call him that. I had never seen such a bond between siblings grow so strong, he even tried to save her once when we were twelve from this hell hole our kidnapper had us in. It wasn't a pretty picture. Aby, that was her name got shot in the chest by her own brother, who had actually thought she was dead when our kidnapper and he were fighting over the gun that had killed her, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Let the story tell itself.

"Addie, where is Mommy," Quentin asks me as I come to get him out of his crib. He can get out on his own, but he likes to be carried that just goes to show you how much genetics is a weird combination and I say this because Aby was one that liked to be carried. I look at the 4-year-old and just sigh, because telling him over and over again doesn't get any easier as I look down at my feet and then back up at him "She's not with us anymore," I tell him sadly. Hey, I might have hated the girl, but when she had Quentin and died I felt for him because he was now a foster kid like how I was. At the funeral, I saw Teddy and Aby's boyfriend Jason Meyers, who is cute by the way like sexy hot. Quent kept asking who they were and why would they be at his Mom's funeral if they didn't know her? It was for a brief moment though as I didn't answer the boy's question because of being distracted since our kidnapper was there as well to make sure that I didn't escape with Quentin, but today was different.

Right now our kidnapper is out getting us groceries, so that way Quentin and I can survive, however, I am planning to get out of here, before he comes back and finds out we've run out on him. Carrying Quentin I place him down, so he can play with his train set, while I grab a few necessities from Aby's area, where she spent most of the time before she had died.

From, what I learned from hearing Aby talk about her brother is that he is mostly autistic, but managed to provide for the both of them with a shop that he had in the town they lived in. It was a small town in Denver Colorado. I grab her crutches along with her bag and I put almost everything of hers in it before I go back to Quentin and ask him where he left his "blanket," the object was really a hoodie, but I used it as a blanket because it's literally the only one item the kid has of his Mom I am not going to take that away from him. He points to the crib and sticks his hand in his mouth.

I walk over to the crib and grab the thing as I felt some warm liquid on it and I sighed. "Quentin Tyler Hunton, Did you do your business on your BLANKET!!!" I hollered in stress and disbelief because he is potty-trained, so it surprised me.

"There is no potty here Addie, we live in a cave," he says looking at me sadly with tears in his eyes this is something that Aby would do if she had upset our kidnapper or anyone else really it got annoying at some points, but with Quentin, I accept it, because he's just a child... Aby was too, but she was a pre-teen come on really what's up with that? "It's okay buddy," I tell him. "But, you cannot do it when we get out of here promise?" He nods and smiles, but with a serious tone tells me "And my middle name is Teddy, not Tyler."

I laugh and ruffle his wavy hair and ask "Hey Quent, are you strong?" He then looks at me with a raised eyebrow and questions "Do you not see my muscles," as he flexes.

"So is that a yes," I ask teasing him. He then looks at me with the same serious look and I smile. "Then here, can you carry these for me while climbing up," I ask him as he nods and grabs the crutches that were a bit too big for him to carry, but with the bag on my back, I wouldn't be able to carry it.

"Are you sure you want to do this," Quentin asks me while looking up going up one rail after the other.

"You mean am I sure I want you and me to have a family," I ask the kid. "Yes, absolutely."
